Mishawaka (Ind.) Penn quarterback Zach Oakley received his first scholarship from Central Michigan on Thursday.
“It’s a surreal feeling,” Oakley said. “There is nothing like it.”
It’s a feeling Oakley could soon feel again.
Northern Illinois is showing strong personal interest in the 6-foot-2, 198-pound signal-caller, and Purdue has also been by the school.
Oakley has had a chance to visit Central Michigan in the past and he enjoyed his conversation with head coach Dan Enos.
“It’s a good school,” Oakley said. “I like how the campus is so compact. You can get from one side of the campus to the other in nine minutes.”
Oakley said he could make his decision within the week.
“I’m definitely going to think it over.”
