49ers Cheifs complete a trade for Alex Smith

49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith.
No way it could have been for the number 1 over all pick. Im going 2 and a 4

Smith isn't bad.. Now KC can draft a LT and start to build.
They have pieces.. Jamal Charles, Dwayne Bowe.. And talent on defense
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.

I dont think its that bad. At least Smith is somewhat proven. You dont have to go maybe reach for a guy like Geno, Barkley, Manuel for him to do what Smith did at the beggining of his career. The Chiefs had plenty of pieces last year with all the pro bowlers they had. Now they can go get a LT to protect Smith. I see where you are coming from Kite. This move may not be super sexy, but I think it might not be bad. I dont think he will pull a Cassell.

They have a pro bowler @ LT, in Albert. He cleared up the back problem rumors. Then you got Bushrod and Long hitting the market too.
Andy Reid has options. Trade down imo.

There are no players that are going to make it worth giving up a lot of picks for #1.

Reid is the perfect fit for Smith, especially after his last season and 1/2 coming from Harb.
It was way too expensive though, I agree.
