✞✞✞ Daily Bible Study/Pray Request Thread ✞✞✞

  • This is not a thread to stir the pot, just a place where posters can share anything God is doing their lives. Also a place of prayer requests and encouragement.

Reading thru Luke, God has really convicted me of my pride and my overlooking of the poor. So pray for Humility. Look forward to seeing what God does with this thread!

  • I have been in Afghanistan since December and the Lord has kept me safe this far. He has blessed me to reunite with my ex girlfriend...whom I plan to marry. I also see this time in my life as my wilderness experience. Im away from my spiritual support system (Church thruout the week, brothers sisters in Christ etc.) so I have to fight harder, push further to go in the presence of God. The scripture is true He will never leave you nor forsake you. God Bless!

  • Not a huge religious person but I did grow up so. I was on a highway to hell and wrecking my life along the way. God is getting my attention. It ain't fun but it is a lot better than where I was. It amazes me that I am where I am today I just wish I had the past 4 years back. I nearly died 4 years ago next week and it started my life on a down hill spiral.

Well bruh I have been saved for 5yrs this September. I dont know your situation but I use to say "If I could turn back the hands of time..." but I have come to the realization that that time in my life was needed to be the man that I am and to be the man that I will become. I grew up in the church but didnt fall in line until God got my attention. Im thankful that I fell in line before it was too late. God speaks to us all but what does it take to get our attention. The thing to do now is to keep your eyes on him, get in that word and pray. Get that relationship with Christ and keep it going. Be who you are, keep your personality, but incorparate the love in the gospel in your heart and give it back to the world. And remember his grace IS sufficient for you. We only feel conviction but we are not condemded...his grace IS sufficient for you. I see you a rebel...who all do you listen to?

Dude, don't regret the 4 years that's part of your testimony. How far down and weak we are, just shows how strong Christ is! Be joyful that Christ still has use for us. God is good. Read Phillipians 3:13. It helped me to focus on eternal things and not my past. Praying for you man!

Why did god make me an atheist?

Nobody is made an atheist according to Romans 1:18-21. But sometimes I actually live like I don't believe in God and its our nature to reject Him and live for ourselves. That's why Christianity and having faith is so hard because we have to deny ourselves daily, which is very hard. However, after living a life of alcohol, drug and pornography/sex addiction, it's evident that Christ and Christ alone can fulfill me and that means dying to myself.

I don't know. The religious threads always turn into a debate anyway.

Thanks. We should do this on a regular basis. Pray for our country during a difficult weekend. Pray that the American Church would once again become what it should be. Thank God for the grace and mercy found in Jesus. John 16:33.

When you say "American Church"... what do you mean? Curious, really. Are you talking about religion/churches in general, or what?

Religion is something you perform to gain the favor of a god. Christianity is based on a grace. So, it's not a religion. However, the American Church (ie. Christians in America), has lost its center and heart the last few decades and has become something less than it was.

And what, IYO, should Christians in America do that is different from what they do now? Again, I'm not trolling or flaming, I'm genuinely interested in your opinion.

Thanks for the question. There's so much to say. Succunctly put, the American Church should be more about sharing and living the message and example of Jesus than anything else. We should demonstrate the love of God, in Jesus, in all that we do. But, as the true Church grows weaker and less committed, our country inevitably becomes more and more cynical and rude (as demonstrated by a few posts on this thread), while mistrust and lack of peace amongst our citizens grows.

That is simple.....Jesus answered that 2000+ years ago and it has not changed. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, and all your strength...and Loe your neighbor (others) as yourself. (Luke 10:27)

  • Great post goodnews and good question Gonig. Yeah, we as Americans live with such affluence that we forget how much we really need Him. We trust in our financial, personal, and socio-economic security instead of He who has given us these riches.
