Michigan "Loses" vs. Bama

  • Michigan fans, how confidant are you about the Bama game? Bama fans seem to think they will wreck UM like helicopter with no tail rotor! Is the game a fore gone conclusion or do you think UM can pull it off? If you think UM can win, please back up why with detailed support. Bama fans claim they will win because of their QB's experience, OL, DL, running game, LB's, head coach, and fan support. However, they do not appear to be to high on special teams, WR's, DB's, and offensive coordinator. Both fan bases, please give me some real thoughts of why your team will win. I do not want to hear, we will win because your fans only have one tooth or we will win because you lost to App St..

This bonehead is a troller from (Auburn) the barn; so Michigan fans, be aware that our unworthy opponent will stir the pot as much as possible. Many within our fanbase have nothing but the utmost respect for you and your University. Just looking forward to a great game along with passionate fans.

  • Alabama wins on paper, not because of their D but because their OL and rushing game will wear us down. It would wear anyone down. But the games aren't played on paper and much larger upsets happen every year. It's the first game of the season and it will be played in an extremely distracting environment. If Alabama is overconfident or gets sloppy and makes mistakes, UM is good enough to win. And Denard can pass much better than many of you think.

But really, I'm going in with the expectation that we will probably lose. I don't think it's feasible to go in with anything else when the defending national champions are bringing the nation's best offensive line to the party.

That said, I'm keeping my expectations very low on purpose - I'd rather be pleasantly surprised by a well-fought game that ends up in a loss than bitterly disappointed if it all goes to hell and Michigan gets blown out.

However, anything can happen. If Michigan wins, it'll be because a) the defense contained Alabama's running game and made AJ McCarron try to win through the air, b) Denard and the O didn't have any turnovers, c) the defense forced at least 2 turnovers, and Borges had such an effective mix of pass and run plays in succession that it kept Alabama's D guessing all night. Denard will need to pass like he's never passed before, the line will need to gel quickly, we'll need to avoid injuries, and we'll need to control the ball and clock. It's unlikely that MIchigan wins, but stranger things have happened.

  • The _ichigan D is in some trouble if they can't get their Dline together.

Robinson can keep them in it, but it won't be enough.

Is Jobba letting all the criminals play in the first game? If not, UM becomes a single threat and I highly doubt the toothless wonders would allow a one man show.

    Outstanding

  • Michigan lags behind in the talent department, that won't change for a few more years. For now, Michigan has Denard and if he is on, Michigan can hang with anybody. Michigan returns 2 of it's top 3 WRs from last year. Roundtree led the team in receptions 2 years ago. Four of the starters on the oline started at some point last year.

The dline lost 3 guys from last year, but those coming in this year are upperclassmen or a highly touted freshman. All the LBs and DBs return in the back 7. The kickers and punters return also.

First game for both teams and Alabama has had more games with "Extremely Distracting Enviroment's" lately tham UM. I hope Denard can pass better than I think because if he runs, he will not make it to the 4th quarter. I respect UM and like watching them play. I do however think this game will get ugly for UM.

Sounds good, If UM stays in the game, maybe pride will take over late, and a players like Denard Robinson thrive in situations like that. Good luck!

This definitely sounds like a formula for a win. It is possible. However, I think Bama's DL will be as much of a factor in not more of a factor than their OL.

Funny, but what exactly is Bama going to put in UM's pooper! Also, I do not think UM can prepare for the "physicallity" of Bama's defense. It will denfinitely be aggressive.
