  • Anyone have the Samsung Epic 4G (Sprint)?

I am going to probably be getting it in a few months when I get out of Basic, and would love to hear some reviews on it?

Thought about getting an earlier version of the EVO, but I was much more impressed with the Epic that I was comparing it too.

I do want to know how the rom/kernal scene is as well, I love that kind of stuff.

    Droid X.

It's terrible. The only reason I got it was because I didn't want to leave Verizon and at the time they didn't carry the iphone.

Droid x is garbage. I went through two of them. I've upgraded to the Samsung galaxy nexus, and this phone is the badass.

I got an app called "wifi hotspot and USB tether" and it is great. It works great and you don't have to pay a monthly fee. With 4g, unless your downloading hd video, you hardly need a cable modern

  • Does those have a Google cloud music player? I have about 5k songs i can stream from my gmail account, and you can have up to 20k. I know i wasn't able to do that from any other Android phone I've had, but it could be standard now

Dude you gotta go Galaxy S2 or better... who's your provider? Let me know which phone you get and I could point you in the right rom/rooting process direction.

for Sprint the only logical choice is Galaxy Nexus.

Verizon is lucky enough to get the Galaxy3 in June... first quad-core phone, it will be the best smartphone on the market... unfortunately I have AT&T. [sad]

  • I have a DROID 4 and love it it's my third DROID. The new key board is awesome.

If you had to have one App, which would it be? This may need it's own thread?

Benchmarks have shown that Snapdragon S4 dual core processors are just as capable as quad core Tegra3 chips. nothing you do on a phone is vigorously multithreaded enough for quad core to drastically help. most apps are single threaded and Android itself is single threaded. the S4 chip has even shown higher graphics scores than the tegra3. The tegra 3 will dominate it on other benchmarks due to having more theoretical processing power at its disposal, but in real world tests, the dual core S4 is just as good or even better than the quad core Tegra3.

i'm jumping to Verizon once the RAZR HD or the Droid Fighter comes out this summer. same battery size as the RAZR MAXX but adds 720p screen, 13 megapixel camera, LTE.

The Snapdragon is crap compared to the Exynos... it's always good to be future proof, I'm sure developers will be coding for quad-cores soon... just like they did for PC.

What about the battery not being replaceable? Its one of the things holding me back from the Razr series. I can renew at anytime on Verizon, as long as my X lasts that long, it barely makes calls anymore. When should they start releasing summer phones?

that sucks... wonder why that is, they did the same thing to the HTC 1 X, went from quad to dual 1.5 snapdragon.
