The only olineman that Trickett has recruited that was any good was Hudson. That is it and I think that shows Hudson's work ethic more than Trickett. Qb is different for me, because of sheer numbers. A lot of tops qbs won't go to where there are other top qbs. We had Ponder and EJ and I think that scared away some kids. I will be honest, I lost a lot respect for EJ when he went out in the Oklahoma game and then missed the Clemson game. I think teammates did as well. You have a kid like Datko who plays hurt 80 percent of the time, you can't tell me he wasn't thinking that EJ is a bitch. Byron Leftwich sucked balls but he had heart. EJ to me doesn't.

No question about EJ but the problem is not with him

And i think the players are smart enough to know that

Its the damn training staff that is keeping him out

He said he wanted back in and Jimbo said no in fear of further injury lol

Its ridiculous how serious he takes it

I promise you, EJ missed two games cause of Jimbo.... not himself

This training staff has loaded up are kids heads with crap, Im telling you.... Im trying to tell everybody

Im pretty sure this is one of the biggest problems we have right now

They clearly have no clue what they are doing

Datko all of sudden needs more surgery and Thompson was cleared when they knew he had back problems and now he is likely gone forever when he didn't have to be.... could have used this year for a proper rehab

Im really disgusted by this so called training staff

And where the &%$# is Willie Haulstead, can we get a god damn explaination there ? jesus christ

The injuries we suffer and how we handle them are just outrageous

One of the practice reports said Darious Cummings didn't dress cause of a thumb injury, I mean... I don't even know what to say to that

You're wrong here, he has been dealt a shitty hand

He is gonna be a player if we get things fixed

    EJ is not the problem

He isn't Andrew Luck but we can win with him

If we just had a halfway decent OL that could give us a run game we would be undefeated even with all the horrendous penalties and mistakes

This whole season is on Trickett, its all his fault cause it all starts and ends with his OL

The defense sucks at times but I bet they play a lot better with a solid lead.... something they haven't had against a real team

On defense when your down you tend to press, and that added with more time on the field means you will get very tired

  • You forgot the whole Holmes fiasco. Dude hasn't shown up to practice all year. Just say he is done. Keeping secrets only work if you are winning. Everyone could see Thompson shouldn't have been playing. I love the fact that Wilder is the only back who can move a pile. He scores a td and then doesn't see the field the rest of the day. He should have been in there for Thomas. A dumbass senior who goes backwards at the goalline. The football IQ for some of these players are borderline retarded.

  • EJ's numbers aren't that bad and if you consider Clint threw for almost 400 on Clemson then EJ would have ripped them a new asshole cause that secondary blows

So all and all Im satisfied with EJ, he is what I thought he would be right now

Its the OL and Run game that break my heart

I think Jimbo realized this weekend EJ needs to play, cause Clint is not ready

If EJ goes down from here on out, I will agree but for now I expect EJ to lead this team out of the cellar

IMHO you don't grow up where EJ did and succeed without heart, he has it... it just needs to blossom along with his team.... again this is a team sport

Yeah its truly baffling how he likes to give 4-8 carries to 17 different RB's

His whole RB by committee is dog shit unless you have 3-4 beasts like he did at LSU

We have 2 solid freshman that need work and 2 seniors who need to never see the field ever again, ever.... not ever again.......... ever!

  • Like I said, I might judge him too harshly. I wasn't as high on EJ as other people to begin with. The bottom line is we need to run the ball. It is a shame that the rb do not have a combined 100 carries through 5 games. You knew Clint was playing above his head and he would eventually show that he is a freshman. Team needs a leader, who will step up is the ?

EJ is our only prayer at running the ball and leading us IMO

And I think he is the leader, we just haven't seen it yet cause really he hasn't been able to take control due to Trickett's little episode as the starter

I have really been impressed with EJ at times, he throws some dumbass picks and is never gonna be a heisman contender but we can certainly win with him next year and that is my only concern at this point

Seeing the stars take hold of this team and running full speed into next season

Im stroking myself to the WR core, if we can add Benjamin and Haulstead to the crew next year we will be deadly with Sue Bird at QB yet alone EJ

Then you factor in Christo and O'Leary and finally we have some actual players to play some football with

If only we could hit the fast foward button

RB will be better too with Wilder, Pender and Freeman... not chumps like Ty Jones and Jermaine Thomas

We just need a fresh start on the OL, I just don't trust Trickett.... he made another incredible mess

    Meh.

We did that last year and had 3 RB's with like 500-600 yards each.

  • The NFL likes what Trickett is doing, his no talent players keep signing contracts to get paid. We will be fine and this is today and these are the players. Now I know you will say how stupid I am for my faith in the players and the staff, but that is just fine. As a fan for since 1974 and a season ticket holder, I still put my money on these young men and this staff. Tough times builds character. We as fans can help build up or tear down, and choose to build up. Now laugh at me.

  • We should just make this a any team depression thread. I don't understand why O'Leary isn't used more either. He could be such a weapon, but right now he is getting wasted. I think we have to use the Wilder and Freeman more. Jones looks like he lost a step(not that he had one to give) and Thomas has regressed every year. We haven't committed to running the ball in any game. If we get behind by even a point, it is pass pass pass. That has to change.

  • I am depressed but I have not given up hope. I guess if one does not say samething bad on this post it means you are dumb. The state of the program is not where I want it to be, but I must remember these are 18 to 22 year old young men and they may need a lift right now. I need to get over my depression, and I can be critical without calling names or talking about Coach Fishers ill son. Just a thought

That's not the point. There is a whole board, and a ton of threads, for discussion about the team. This thread, as I understand it, is for wallowing. A pity party sans silver lining and moral victories. And if the Ethan remark was directed to me, I'll meet you outside. No clue where that comes from, and I have been a vocal backer of all things related to the family's struggle.

  • The fact that there are not any Gators on here being depressed just goes to show how delusional they are as a fan base.

    Lol

Nice try but you're an idiot.

The only delusional ones are the ones who thought we had a chance to beat LSU or Bama in a rebuilding year with a new coaching staff.

Now if we lose to AU, Georgia, SCar and FSU, I'll be plenty depressed. Hell, I'll be sad if we drop the next two alone. Which is entirely possible with our freshmen QBs.

But I understand misery loves company. I'd be pretty miserable myself if my squad dropped one to Wake.

That upvote is from me. I always upvote posts that make me laugh.

    Either start complaining or gtfo

And if you defend trickett one more time youre banned

Lmao at tough times build character

If that is true we should a shit load of character by now

Most of the time tough times destroy the weak

Trickett is a tired, stubborn old man..... He isnt the coach he once was

    Open your eyes bra

Bet you defended bowden till the end too lol

  • Then stand up when someone uses a childs illness as a joke.

I think jimbo will step down and use his family as the reasoning ( sons illness ) if we keep losing
This post was edited by NoVaNoles on 10/9/2011 at 6:43 PM

Because we all know how smart NoVa is and how he is always joking. Just do not bring up the family at all for any reason.

  • Why do people just throw his son's illness out the window. As a father, I know I wouldn't be able to concentrate the way you would need to if I was in the same position. Is it wrong, hell no, because family comes first. What Nova was saying IMO, is if the season keeps going south this could happen. It would be a win win for everyone involved actually. No one would or could blame Fisher for doing it. Not one person on here has said that is the reason. They are saying that it could be a reason.
Nothing was said disrespectful about his son's illness. Now to the part about the NFL liking what Trickett is doing. How many lineman from FSU that Trickett has coached are in the NFL? Hudson? Don't give me he hasn't had time to recruit his players, he has been here 5 years. I don't care what he did at other schools, I judge him on what he has done at FSU. Everyone thought he was the greatest, because he improved the oline. The thing is this, it didn't take much to improve the oline because McHale was terrible.
