? about top ten 2013 recruiting classes

  • Where does each class excel? Like for us, we have a really good class of WR's, what about the other classes, what are their strong points?

Nice, can never go wrong with a solid OL. It would be nice if we had Mathews and Joekel come back next year, that would put us in competition for an SEC title.

  • Linebackers for ND, we also have the 2nd or 3rd best OL haul behind what I regretfully feel is Michigan and possibly just someone I'm ommiting.

Tell me more about y'alls DB's?We have five committed right now, with Noel Ellis and Kam Miles being my favorites. Are those the biggest needs positions that y'all have right now? Do you think Kiffin will be around much longer?

Texas has a monster OL class too.

They always do, but lately they have failed to take advantage of it. Until they can find a decent QB I don't see it making any difference. They will be bringing in a new OC and DC though, so who knows.

Sua Cravens is a monster Safety. Gatorade POY

Ramsey will most likely be starting at some point next season.

Chris Hawkins needs a little time in the weight room but could see some time next season with our thin depth. He is a legit ball hawk though and a true CB, not an athlete playing CB like SC has had in the past.

Waiting on LM3 to see if he liked his visit last weekend. Sounds like an SC lean from all our insiders. If he doesnt come then it's trying to play keep away with Max Redfield(Domer) or getting Jermaine Kelly or Goodman, both 4stars, to finish off the DB class.

I think Lane gets a few more years. He did coach a damn good team last season. IMO he did enough on offense to win games this year but how do you tell your dad that he sucks? Weird situation but next year there will be no excuses. At the very least he is going to have the team stacked with 5stars for who ever comes in after.

Thanks for the info. You think Ramsey sicks? Maybe it's just me, but I never give coaches at USC credit for recruiting, USC recruits itself. What 18 year old wouldn't want to go live in SOCO for four years?

    This.

ND bias and all, I'm always impressed by the Stanfords, Vanderbilts, Noethwesterns, syracuse, etc. that are academic schools in cold/boring places. Really gotta sell that 40 year vs 4 year commitment. Honestly, even though I hate USC and strongly dislike Florida, if I was a big time recruit I'd probably go to one of those schools...take easy classes and rail chicks for 4 years...

Yep. Mike Leach was one of the best in my opinion. He had kids wanting to go to Lubbock, Texas. That town sucks, nothing but desert and nothing to do. As much as I hate baylor, Briles has done a great job also.

I think Ramsey sticks. He's practically guaranteed a starting spot next season and it sounds like he want's to leave town. Not sure Bama can offer a starting spot and Vandy is not really leaving town. Plus all our DB recruits seemed to have developed pretty good relationships over the year. I think all of them but Ramsey are EE's so we would have heard bad news/wavering already if he wasn't feel'n it.

I give Lane credit for recruiting the way he has while going through the turmiol of the last few seasons. Sanctions plus the jekyll and hyde seasons. Easy to bring in studs from our own back yard with all this going down but to still go to the midwest/eastcoast and pluck out top players is tough during times like these. I give Lane props for that even though I am not sold on him as a coach yet.

Don't ask don't tell... in if you do ask, "USC sells itself" peace

See ya in 2017? I think we have Texass in 2021 or something like that. I honestly don't keep track of schedules until July hits.

  • I love our class's diversity. We have quite a few athlete type players that can play on both sides of the ball.

Typical La kids that are just really good football players that can do it all.

AG we have the best LB class, 2/3 OL class, top 4/6 RB if we land Folston which I expect to, and top 10/12 DB class once we add Redfield. Only position out class is lacking is DL. All the other position groups are good with a few elite players sprinkled in with some kids that have high ceilings but are more of a project. Really think David Robinson's son is going to be huge redone threat after he RS. Actually see him adding weight and moving to TE. Torri Hunter Jr. is going to do big things at WR for us. One thing that BK gets overlooked for is recruiting kids that can play multiple positions. We have starting TE that started at LB as a FR. A FR and RSFR starting in secondary that were playing RB and WR heading into spring practice. Also have starting OLB that came in as a QB.

Awesome, congrats and thanks for the input star. Kelly has really come in and changed things for y'all fast. I'm guessing you guys appreciate what he has done a lot more than jabba the Weis lol. I gotta pull for my SEC brotheren in the NC, but I wish y'all luck, and I'm sure I will enjoy watching y'all play for some time to come. Congrats to Te'o on all the awards. Semantics aside, he is a very special player and a stand up person. It's refreshing to see kids like him, because it is a rarity these days.

  • Star, there is a 90 percent chance that Derrick Griffin qualifies for us. How do you like this scenario my friend? Mike Evans, JaQuay Williams, RSJ, and Derrick Griffin all on the field at the same time? That mixed in with some of the speedy slot guys coming in. That is going to be a nightmare for defenses.

D-Line really stands out, Secondary is pretty stout too, especially if we land Bell.

  • UGA's defensive backfield is getting an influx of talent. 8 (or could call it 9) guys added there with 3 possibly starting next year early (matthews and fluker at s and langely at cb).

Yea, I'm impressed with the class y'all are putting together, and I think it will end up being #1 overall. I really like coach Richt, and have always pulled for Georgia to do well.

  • Bama - RB class is crazy good. Defensive line is very strong and could get stronger if Liner flips(I'm counting Allen as a DL although he will likely be a JACK).

I think the secondary ends up being a strogn class as well. Del Rio walking on makes the QB class deeper.
