I was surprised to see powerhouses like Yale, fordham and smu on the list.

I guess it depends on your definition of "fell from glory", but I would take Nebraska and Michigan off that list and add someone like Minnesota. Minnesota has multiple national titles, but has sucked for the better part of my lifetime.

FYI, FSU was a top-5 team in 1979 and 1980, and was outstanding throughout the 80s, too.
Also, Google "Bill Peterson" and check out his coaching tree. Second only to Paul Bown's, IMO.

The commentary under "Fordham" regarding the Ivy League is inaccurate. "Ivy League" is derived from the Roman Numeral "IV", which denoted the original four members of the league - Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Columbia.
Fordham used to be really good, nonetheless (Vince Lombardi played there). Also, John Skelton, co-starter at QB for the Cardinals is from Fordham.

No svit, but Yale and fordham have not been relevant in almost 100 years. They might as well should have added Army and Navy to since the last title came in the 40's.

Agree with MAUDiculous. Nebraska is coming back around, Michigan too. Minnesota should have made the list. There are a few others that I would personally change. But overall, it's tough to argue against most of those teams.

Yea John Coopers terrible 111-45-4 record at OSU. If our fall from grace is a coach with a .715 winning percentage and 3 top 10 finishes in 13 years, I'll take it.

Cooper had very good teams and great players. He just couldn't beat Michigan or win a bowl game to save his life.
