For those of you in the Pacific time zone, you only have to wait 7 more hours to watch the 100 meter final. NBC really blew it today.

I think it was on Rivals 3-4 years ago when I said Trindon Holliday/Jacoby Ford [in track shape] would compete very well against Bolt over a 40 yard dash race and folks said I was clueless. Holliday and Ford didn't run beyond college yet even then they were among the fastest starters in the world.
Bolt was in 5th place at the 40 yard dash mark yesterday. It's just that beyond this stage [40 yards] his top-end speed is so elite that you aren't beating him in a race beyond 60m.
Tell people what they want to hear, they will like you. Tell them the actual truth...they may not.

Agreed. NBC has done a horrible job with the coverage this year. They did the same with the Women's 100m Final the previous night. All about "advertising" dollars by showing the marque events that everyone will tune in to see during primetime.

I agree with this, Bolt's so tall that he takes longer to get up to speed, his 40 time would be something like 4.40 at best.

Looks like a short linebacker to me...but more a RB. His shoulders are huge. Then again, I guess he may just be ripped and the size is an illusion because the guys near him are more streamlined??
