'13 TX RB Jamel James commits to Notre Dame

  • He is better than he allows himself to be... He thinks highly of his ability but he was in for a rude awakening when he came to FSU and saw how good Florida backs were... Texas is known for bruiser backs but he came and looked regular when measured against the likes of Collins and of course Green... He didn't do himself any favors by only working out 1/3 days at the camp... Shows work ethic when a player only works out 1 day when he is healthy for all three... Good pickup though honestly I liked him more than a lot of FSU fans but it takes more than talent sometimes... he does seem like he can turn into a really good back...

pretty much how I feel. If he stays in shape he has potential to be great.

Came out of nowhere. Honestly hadn't even heard of him until a few hours ago. Solid offer list. Great pickup.

Never heard of him.And I am an avid Texas recruiting junkie.

Interesting posts - ND had a fb/RBI a few years ago named Rashon Powers-Neal that CW had playing unstoppable for about 8 games - then the wheels came off and he never took another snap at ND

RPN got a DUI in October of 05 and was suspended the rest of the semester.

That is exactly how I remembered his camp at FSU.

He "committed" to FSU on day 1, best I recall, and was told to wait on that...as Collins is our top guy. He got mad about that, stayed all three days and only worked out the first day. After seeing the competition of RGreen and Collins, I guess he decided to pack it up and enjoy the campus.

Hopefully, ND can get the great back out of him. He has great talent, but his work ethic is the issue. Congrats to ND and best wishes to the young man.

I laughed a little when the update that James had committed to ND scrolled across the screen. Said he also had offers from WVU, LSU, USC, and FSU.

WVU and and FSU never offered, LSU and USC pulled their offer like a year ago. I believe ND was the only offer he had at the time he committed.

I hope he is the great RB that he has the potential to be. I think his laziness gets in the way, though.
