20 States are home to teams that have won an MNC.

Counting the coaches and AP polls only since 1936, these are how many each state has won. What state has the best chance to have their first winner ever in the near future?
Alabama 11
Florida 10
Indiana 8
California 8
Oklahoma 7
Texas 6
Nebraska 5
Ohio 5
Minnesota 4
Michigan 4
Pennsylavania 4
Louisiana 3
New York 3
Tennessee 2
Georgia 2
Utah 1
South Carolina 1
Colorado 1
Maryland 1
Washington 1
Easy answer would have to be Oregon, IMO, but you could throw Virginia, West Virginia, Kansas, and Arkansas into the discussion as well, I suppose.

Not really a big surprise to see Alabama(Bama, Auburn) and Florida(UF, UM, FSU) near the top given multiple BCS-level programs.
I don't think anyone other than OSU is a contributor to the state of Ohio.... UC has been on the upswing over the past decade, but they're still UC.
Time and change will surely (truly) show How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

I didn't think to consider Idaho. Good call. I wish Boise had gotten into the PAC 12 honestly, because I think they are in a weaker conference now than they were last year in the MWC.

Did Boise end up accepting a BE bid?
I'm not sold on them from a talent standpoint, but you can't argue that their coaching is anything but spectacular.

They did accept a Big East bid, but they put an "easy out" clause in their contract. I have a feeling that if Louisville leaves, they may just opt to head back to the MWC with SDSU (they have the same out clause as well). Personally, I never understood them joining the Big East. After 2013, the Big East probably won't have a BCS auto-bid anymore (every conference may not have that), and in that case, the MWC is a MUCH better option.

I think they did it just to ensure a piece of the pie for the moment and for the extra money that it could bring. Hard to have to split bowl revenue with the rest of a conference that doesn't have a chance to get to a BCS bowl as Boise did for the most part.
As soon as the Big East loses their AQ status, Boise is gone, I agree.
I don't think it will be a matter of having AQ status with the new +1 system it looks like we are head for. It will all be just about being in the top 4.

If it had occurred in the last decade or so the NCAA prob would have revoked the one from SC. Just based on recent precedent.
I don't think they really revoked titles back then, but I could be mistaken.
