2012 New players to watch,

  • Name one player on both sides of the ball from your team that no one has probably ever heard of that be make huge impacts this year. For Bama its easy on offense WR Christian Jones also on special teams look for him to have a big year, and on defense Adrian Hubbard will make a big impact at the jack LB position IMO.

    WESTSIDE334

  • Offense - Devonta Freeman ( still feel he is an unknown )

    Defense - Christian Jones

was going to put pretty much exactly what you said.

I know he is fairly known but i believe Kenny Bell will have a monster year but that's JMO

  • Defense.. Tharold Simon.. 6'3'' CB, been over shadowed by Claiborne, Peterson and Mathieu.. Dudes a beast and held his own against Julio Jones a few times when matched up.

Offense.. Jeremy Hill.. Might be the best RB on the team and he just had an amazing run in a scrimmage.. 6'1'' 225 pounds with breakaway speed.. So glad we ended up with him.. I think he's better than Hilliard, Blue, Ware and Ford

Check this 50 yard TD he had during a scrimmage last week... Video quality isn't good but the dude will be very tough to stop.. You're right, his HS highlights were insane.. Thanks for the compliments

Keep an eye on Craig Loston at safety too.. Very unknown and underrated

I hope he breaks out.. He was a 5***** out of HS so people know him.. Reid is way better but this is Lostons year to really break out... His problem is hitting people to hard and getting flags, probably should play LBer but he has all the potential in the world.

Coaches were saying it's taken him a long time to learn the playbook but he's finally got it down (Chavis has a tough playbook to learn)

There's so much talent, it's hard to pick just one guy.. You could name Freak Johnson, Ego Ferguson and many more.

  • OREGON

Defense - CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (T-So.), played significant minutes as a true freshman last year, even getting the start in a couple. The "nation" probably doesn't know him that well though. 5-10 190 Physical, very sure tackler even as a Fr. Very active in spring game, and had a nice diving pick off of Mariota. One of those mature beyond their age, leadership types. All three freshman CBs (Ekpre-Olomu, Mitchell, and Hill) were thrown to the wolves last year and it showed at times but it was a year of experience under their belt.

Offense - TE Colt Lyerla (T-So.), is primed to take over as Paulson's replacement at TE, and has the athleticism and talent to do so. 6'5 240 right now. He'll need to be the leader of a young TE position that relies heavily on freshman, though Evan Baylis looked excellent in spring ball.

Not to hijack, but I miss the Julio vs. Peterson days. That was ALWAYS a good matchup to watch.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

Actually Fisher might be another guy to consider for this thread. Had a decent season playing as a T-Fr. and haven't heard any to suggest that he won't be a reliable player this upcoming season. OL is the hardest position to crack as a freshman so that tells you what Greatwood (OL coach) thought about him. Will probably see most of his time at RT for the foreseeable future. Hoping since Kyle Long only has one season left of eligibility that he can come in and anchor the LT spot.

Damn, he sounds like a big miss on Michigan's part.
