Looks about perfect to me but I'd put pettway over Tomlinson. Devall and Dickson is a tough call. Both will play a lot

Also lucky said Anderson is moving to mike. Starting to wonder if he ever gets meaningful reps with the logjams we have

I had that too then I went back and changed it due to Saban's comments about Tomlinson. He said if he had not gotten hurt this year he would have played a ton. That's interesting about Anderson, I had not heard that. If he ever wants to start it might have to be at RE. I never liked him as a 5 star. Good stuff

Tomlinson is really smart kid and is obviously a great athlete from all of his state wrestling titles. I can't wait to see some of those moves coming off the edge. Anderson may not have been 5* but he's almost a full year younger than everyone in his class so that will probably delay his development slightly. He could be one hell of a run stuffer though at MLB.

  • I'm worried about Anderson's ability to cover much more than anything else. Nico struggled covering and that led to him only playing around half the snaps. Anderson can give us a run stuffer but if he wants to be elite he will have to play in space and cover.

  • I thought Eddie Williams was going to play WR?

No early entry into the draft for CJ Mosley? Too small?

He might play WR. He tried it this Summer and had too many drops so he played DB. But maybe he wants another shot, not sure. And as for Mosley, yeah, he's probably going to stay another year and work on getting a little bigger.

Cool, thanks. I noticed your post in a different thread where you said Lacy will be a 2nd or 3rd round pick in 2013. What do you think are the chances Lacy doesn't declare early?

Eddie Williams was moved to SS for depth at the position, and will most likely make the move back to WR. CJ would be a late 1st early 2nd round guy this year, but if he is able to bulk up and play every down in our system and prove he can be a run-stopper as well, we are talking a top10 pick. He had 100 tackles without even being a starter. He should be coming back and putting up big numbers.

Sylve got a chance at WR but was quickly moved to CB where he has seen mop-up duties. Given time he could be able to get on the field as a 3rd corner. His speed is tremendous, but he needs more size and strength for him to contribute. I dont think Stinson was ever a FB/RB. IMO Stinson is the most underrated player on this defense.

Stinson has quietly been rock solid all year long. Sylve still needs to put on some more weight but i've been impressed with his open field tackling and physicality (for his size) when he's gotten into games.

Absolutely not. Jernigan has had back to back very good years and will now be a jr. He has made more plays than Easlry the last two years.

Joyner was defensive POY in HS and is an intermittently dominant player. He's never going to be a first round pick but he could finish top3 for the Lott

Well Easley just did come off ACL surgery so that's not a very good comparison. Joyner hasn't done anything impressive this year to make me believe you will do anything good next year.

Edit: Jernigan is good I agree, Joyner sucks though.

Stinson was an edge DE coming out of HS and grew into his current 34 DE role.

both Brad Sylve and Jabriel Washington made the move early on to CB and are merely redshirt freshman at this juncture. how much PT either eventually gets will depend on their individual developement and the readiness of new additions each year.

Eddie Williams back to WR makes since w/ Sunseri,C-Dix,& Collins all being underclassmen, vet Nick Perry, & the expected return of Jarrick Williams for 2013.

food for thought leading into to spring...
w/ the departure of Mike Williams & the rumored move of Ryan Anderson to MIKE, could we see Reggie Ragland get a look at TE ? ya never know. shrug

  • Assuming OLB Jarvis Jones, ILB Ogletree, NT Geathers leave early:

DE- Garrison Smith sr, (Toby Johnson jr), Mike Thornton sr
NT- Jonathan Taylor r fr, Chris Mayes jr
DE- Ray Drew jr, John Atkins fr, (Montravious Adams fr), Sterling Bailey r so
OLB(Jack in bama terms)- Jordan Jenkins so, Leonard Floyd fr
Mike- Amarlo Herrera jr, Reggie Carter fr, Johnny O'Neal fr, Tim Kimbrough fr
Moe- Ramik Wilson jr, (Reuben Foster fr), Ryne Rankin fr
WLB- Josh Dawson so, Chase Vasser r sr, James DeLoach so
CB- Damian Swann jr, Devin Bowman jr, Reggie Wilkerson fr, Shaq Wiggins fr
CB- Sheldon Dawson so, Malcolm Mitchell jr, Brendan Langley fr
FS- Corey Moore jr, Shaquille Fluker jr, Kennar Johnson jr
SS- Harvey-Clemons so may be a LB, Tray Matthews fr, Connor Norman sr

Lot of talent, but very young. Foster would start I just didn't want to pencil in a starter who's not committed yet. The safety position is the most concerning. We don't really know what we have there. Harvey-Clemons could grow into the linebacker position, similar to what Ogletree did.

    jdawg804

  • That UGA defense would be swollen with talent but young in crucial spots. a RFr nose tackle is worth 2 losses.

I expect JHC to start to really stand out next year.
