2014 State of Alabama Rankings From All 3 Sites

  • - Some rankings had to be implied in the bottom 1/3
    - Every site has Humphrey the consensus number one player in the state
    - Scout went full retard, again
    - Bo is the number 2 player in the state by 2/3 of the sites
    - Tre Willams and Racean Thomas are behind them.
    - Most think the top 5 players in the state are Humphrey, Scarborough. Williams, Thomas, and Clark.
    - Clark is underrated IMO
    - I know Racean Thomas has done extremely well lately, but I think he's a tad overrated so far.
    - Ronnie Clark could be a top 3 player before it's all said and done IMO.
    - I threw in my own top 6 just cause...
    - QB Delvin Hodges is not on anyone's list because he's probably 6'0" or 6'1". But he can play and will make some smaller school very happy. If he's 6'4" he would already committed to Bama.
    - EJ Moss plays OLB in college IMO

He and Thomas were supposed to be committing the past month and we felt very god on our chances. He was supposed to commit o our coaches at a game I believe but ended up not doing it. I wonder if we told him to wait a while. Not sure there but he is a great ATH. I have not seen enough of him throwing to form enough of an opinion if he will get a real serious look at QB. I think we give him a look regardless, but it might be a fast one. I think his dad posts on BOL

Thomas puts up play station numbers but I think he doesn't appear to have a great rb build. Maybe he's just young still and needs to fill out but he reminds me of an awkward Roy upchurch

I've struggled to compare him to anyone running the ball but I think that's actually a good comparison. I think Thomas is a good RB I'm just spoiled with the guys I've been watching. It's hard to get excited about Thomas after watching Leonard Fournette's tape. lol

I know everyone loves Fournette but that kid gives and takes way too much punishment IMO. It may not effect him in high school or college but I'm concerned that his NFL (if he makes it) shelf-life will be limited. Reminds me of Marion Barber in terms of running style.

I'm a firm believer in RBs that are low to the ground and shifty is the way to go in terms of projecting "long-term" NFL success and durability. Bill Parcels during The 2011 Draft Confidential with Mike Tirico said the below:

    Parcells quote:
"Bill Parcells points out “elusiveness acts as a preservative for running backs,” who he points out have a “short light” on their NFL careers."

Tell people what they want to hear, they will like you. Tell them the actual truth...they may not.
