And I didn't post that saying "haha we'll land him and you guys won't so your guys' class will suck". I posted that to inform you what we're hearing since you brought up his name

Got ya. Cool. If he goes to UM, you got a good one.

Did Ed Paris drop to a four star?

Even though he is an LSU lean. I never felt like he was a 5 star, number #1 safety player.

Always though he would be a mid to high 4 star.

Excited to see where Trey Quinn is, Barton said he would get a very good ranking.

Paris remains a five-star, and we 100% believe he is that caliber DB.

Yeah i think we both believe you

But it helps you guys that none of the big 3 have been on him yet

He likely will go to michigan

FSU is practically done at WR for 2014 already so you ain't gotta worry bout them

WR Corey Holmes is gonna be a WR the big 3 will gun for in 2014, IMO

He's a guy we think will have a breakout season in 2012 as a junior. Physically, really starting to develop.

All depends on O'Korn's play. Gotta see him produce against starters.

He looked slow to me in a sped up video

    Hard feat to accomplish imo

    Peppers ran a 10.77 FAT 100-metes, and 21.7'ish 200 FAT as a sophomore at 185'ish pounds.

That 10.77, again as a sophomore, would have been a top 8 time in the Texas 5A state meet in 2012. That would have also been good for top 4 in Texas in 4A.

He may not have explosive speed, but he's far from slow for his age/size combination.

    All without pads on

    Still no impressed or convinced

Michael Ray Garvin could fly, was rated 4 stars..... Totally sucked at football

Now this kid is obviously better than MRG, but i've seen nothing that warrants 5 stars

Not yet, and #3 overall ? Makes me wonder if dad works at 247 or something

Sounds like Texas is pretty slow to me... ANd nt impressed when a kid is considered fast among the slow... Rrely agree with Nova on but lately i guess he just has been rational even if the presentation is off. really doesnt make sense for a kid who primarily highlights his rb skill set in a 2mi video to be named best cbin his class. Especially when his athletic ability is you are basing most of his rating off of isnt that impressive.

  • I'm really getting a kick out of people saying that Peppers is rated as a 5* just because of a 2 min highlight video. You act like these guys don't go watch kids play live, especially at a high profile program like Don Bosco.

Yeah.. he's really slow too. bs_sign

Sorry this doesn't sound like an objective opinion... sounds like some serious butthurt.

Watched him play live ? As a sophomore in HS ? Who gives a shit brah

All i said was he ain't no 5 star yet and proclaming him as one is beyond early based off what we know

JC said he doesn't attend camps much

Gerry gave some random track facts that were called out for being average at best by a dood with " track " in his screen name.... This tells us he can run pretty fast in a straight line with no pads on for a kid his age/size

He has a very short video of highlights, mostly of him playing RB

And this warrants a #3 ranking overall and ranked as the best DB ? Im truly lost by this logic

Im not saying the kid sucks

What am i butthurt about ?

    First off... a 10.77 100M, and a 21.75 200M as a HS Sophomore is fast.

Those times would have been 4th and 3rd in the 4A Florida state finals this past season. That's mostly upperclassmen, just so you are fully aware.

Also what does attending camps have to do with anything? Brah.

He was the best player on a loaded team as a Soph. Nobody really cares what you think about a 2 minute highlight video. You act as if that's the end all, be all....

Dymonte Thomas is a top 50 player and he doesn't go to camps... guess he should get moved down. no

    I take nothing from camps

But again, what are we basing his 5 stars on

    Nobody has said

Best player on a loaded team in jersey ? Fail

Runs in the 4th and 5th place range in track ? Not even sure why this brought up but football fans love them some straight line running in no football gear

But hey, if you are okay with handing out 5 stars like candy then by all means

    I think its utterly retarded

And having him ahead of kids like Daub, Michel, Scarborough, Fournette and a few others is just hilarious

Yeah.. that same team in Jersey who beat the Florida 7A state champs (Manatee), Stomped a good St. Edward team from Ohio, and crushed Mission Viejo from California.

    Yeah... that's a real fail.

His track times would've placed 3rd and 4th place in the finals of the highest division in Florida as a Sophomore, but yeah.. go ahead and deflect some more.

You're honestly coming off as being completely nonsensical. Some of you clowns need to understand that just because a kid isn't from the south, it doesn't mean he's not good, or fast, or whatever else you like to claim.

Not sure I agree with you about Peppers but I absolutely agree that "the state you play in and the level of competition" needs to carry much more weight on this site. I remember when I spent the summer of 1989 in Lake Worth, FL back when I was 14 and I was basically shocked at the number of kids my age that were as fast as me as I was almost always the fastest kid in my age-group and usually 1-2 years older while growing up in Central Alabama (Montgomery)..... This "regional" difference was further established in my eyes during my freshmen year in college when I could almost tell what region of the country kids were from based on their explosiveness, fast-twitch burst.

There is a WR in the 2013 Class from a "northern" state that I recently saw compete in a camp and he is overrated.....I assume because he "looks fast" while playing against kids that are "not so fast" in his state as he didn't look explosive when competing against kids from the south with virtually little to no pub from recruiting organizations. Make no mistake....terms like "Florida Fast" are applicable in real life....sorta like Jamaican sprinters are just fast in disproportionate numbers.

I'd double/tripLe evaluate northern "speed", skill athletes because northern fast does not equal southern fast.

There is a reason Big Ten schools attempt to mine the South for speed.

******I'm still LMAO at JC saying that slow a** Kelvin Taylor is "dynamic". A kid that runs 12.2-12.4 range in the 100m dash (did run an "outlier" 11.34 in 2010 in which every athlete in the race ran their PR by at least .5), has "questionable" hands and "average" at best shiftiness is "dynamic" tells me to think twice before actually giving any credence to his skill athlete evaluations. 12.2-12.4 is good for a 7th grader .......NOT the #1 RB in the nation. Helps to have a famous father and play against small classification competition. Taylor is neck & neck with "fragile" Thomas Tyner as the most overrated 2013 prospects.

He may not have explosive speed, but he's far from slow for his age/size combination.

Those times don't have a wind reading so they aren't official times as going from a 2.0 m/s tailwind to a 2.0 m/s headeind can affect 100 meter times by .4-.5. So it's hard to say that he's a "legit" [in terms of wind-legal] 10.77.

For the guy saying Peppers would finish top 4-5 Florida...... I seriously doubt that as the Florida classes that had times that Peppers would "allegedly" go top 4/5 were run into strong headwinds.....meaning those kids are actually faster than the times indicate IF they were running in optimal, legal conditions. I doubt Peppers is a "legit" sub 11.00. But if thinks he can run with Florida.....there are lot of post-season meets in which he can test Florida speed.

Kid is NOT top 5 Florida fast......

Peppers ran sub 11 a bunch of times according to dyestat. Also sub 22 in the 200 several times as well. Kid is fast.

Remember he's only a Soph. And regardless, this was all in response to someone who thinks Peppers is slow, despite never having watched him play.
