***2014 rankings tidbits (UPDATED MONDAY)

Being a track coach in Cobb County does not make you a football evaluator. I will leave it at that and we will stand by our rating of Kelvin Taylor.

If I am the Marietta Daily Journal and I want to know who to put on the All-Area team for spring sports, I will give you a call.

How much of Jacob Park have you guys seen? He seems to be a guy Loeffler is extremely high on. I know Loeffler is new and we don't know how he really is as an evaluater but it has been very obvious that Park is Loeffler's top target and has been very early.

  • Saw that the new ratings have been put up for players and new 4 and 5 stars added (if you search the players names), but when is the actual list coming out of them in order?

Then explain why the guys we ranked highly started building impressive offer lists and why most of the guys we have ranked highly are considered by coaches to be among the best in the country.

    Can't

Same way i can't understand why Myron Rolle had tons of offers

    Sometimes everybody blows it

    Including you guys

Still waiting for Peppers 5 stars explanation

And i side with Dookie on Taylor, you can knock his profession in relation to football ( fair is fair imo ) but his points > your justification on Taylor's 5 stars

Still <3 you though JC.... Xoxo

Today. I apologize. We had some technical glitches that caused a delay in the actual ranking release.

You have a point RE: "everybody blows it" and if you disagree on Kelvin Taylor, fine. What gets me is when folks (not you) want to use the fact that they disagree over RB rankings this recruiting cycle as an indictment on our entire evaluation process. To me, that's intellectually dishonest and a huge stretch and deserves a snotty response. :-)

Peppers is a great football player and projects highly long term because of his size/speed/quickness.

What's the difference, for example, between Peppers and a guy like Stephon Gilmore who went No. 10 in the draft last year at cornerback?

Now, could you argue Peppers should be listed as an ATH? Absolutely. Is there a point to be made about states having faster players? Absolutely.

To me, Myron Rolle was a different story. I never felt good about him for this reason (and if you notice, he wasn't as high by Rivals when I worked there- we did rankings as a team and I can assure you I was not on the Rolle train). When you are talking about the top, top guys in the country, there is very little difference between pure, all things being equal talent-wise. To me, Rolle never had a true position to project at long term and he had too much going on outside of football to project highly in that category. Projection as a human being, a success in life? No. 1 in that class by far. But we rank folks as football prospects.

Anyway, hope that clears it up. Going back to work for the American people now....

We saw him at the Orlando Nike Camp and liked him. He's a dual-threat guy, but has a good arm. Will debut inside the Top247. He didn't put up a ton of stats last year as a sophomore- 1,200 passing, 600 rushing or so, but has great size and will develop in time.

  • wow, LSU has a great shot at historical class.

    4. Fournette (LA kid)
    5. Daub (commit)
    7/8. Robinson (LA, strong lean)
    11. Paris (TX, strong lean)
    21. Jones (LA)
    30. Willis (LA, ground to make up)
    63. Noil (LA, strong lean)
    65. Harvey (TX)
    68. Voorhies (commit)
    77. Dupre (LA)
    89. Sims (LA, no offer yet)

Not sure where Tony Brown is supposed to be on that list, but will be at least another Top 100 if not 5*, and he's another one that LSU will be tough to beat for

11 top 100 players might be historic for LSU, but it's far from historic overall. Take a look at USC's current class.

USC has an all-time great class, but LSU w/ 11 top 100 and 4 of the top 11 would be up there

When its all said and done, in the final rankings 7-8 5 stars is historical to me.

Still more technical delays. I broke the thing and now people smarter than I am are fixing it.

We will get them out as soon as we can.

Really no use in arguing with the southerners. In their mind there is no way a kid from the north should be ranked that high. Ok brah! roflmao

Fastest kid on your team is probably Denard right?

Remind me where he is from?
