Just a question for the staff, mainly. I'm wondering how exactly you calculate total team points for the 247Composite scores?
I know for the 247 site rankings, you essentially sort the player ratings (descending), then multiply each one by a Gaussian factor that's based on which # recruit the prospect is in the list. When I do that calculation for a team, the number I get matches what you have listed in the 247 team rankings.
However, when I try to do the same thing for the 247Composite (also multiplying the Composite rating by 100), I've gotten higher numbers than you have listed. My first thought was that you weren't changing how the prospects were sorted - that you left them sorted by 247 rating instead of resorting them by Composite values. I got closer, but still not exact.
If any analysts here could give me some insight as to how the Composite team points are calculated, I'd appreciate it.

From about August until recently (a week ago?), the numbers "worked" for the Composite, but not for the "247" ratings. I finally realized that the "247" team number was being calculated with the players still sorted by their composite ratings.
My theory is that they are now being sorted by their 247 ratings, correcting the former error but introducing an error in the composite ratings. For UGA, this results in a rating of 740.71, whereas the team page shows "738.42". Sorted on players composite ratings would yield 746.67. Hence, it explains much of the error, albeit not all of it.

That's pretty much what I thought. But since I couldn't hit the exact numbers, was hoping for confirmation. Thanks for the response, furrier.
