30,000 people at the PAC 12 Championship Game

    Nobody cares about the white trash party held every spring but 30K at a championship game is very sad if true. UCLA and Stanford are both good teams and that place should have been packed out.

    One of the more random comments I've seen. And yes, people care. Every year we get commitments from players because of just that.

    They are committing because they believe that Saban is a heck of a coach and can put them in the league or win championships. They aren't committing because you can give free attendance to a spring game that every person that has zero money goes to in this state.

    You would think after all these years you would have leaned not to question me on these matters. But alas, here we are. I can show you numerous articles where the recruits have said they really liked how much Alabama supports their team and how the atmosphere from the Spring game is a big reason they are considering us. In fact, if you go back to 2008 you will read just about every recruit we brought in say it. That sure is a lot of lies. Oh well, I'm sure you know better than they do. Maybe you can also watch Saban's press conference where he thanked to fans for coming out and saying how much things like that help recruiting.

    Don't post on tBB much, but I have to agree with mac. I know this will sound pretentious/snobby, but there is a high percentage of chromosomal anomalies sitting in the stands for the spring game. Great for recruiting and great for those folks who wouldn't otherwise get to see the stadium/team in person, but there are some Deusies in the spring crowd!

    I didn't say it doesn't help. I'm sure it helps but it's not because of that that kids are committing. You are not all knowing. Good poster yes but like all of us you post some dumb stuff from time to time.

    I would have gone to that game in a heartbeat, rain and all. It was a great game and I really like the way Stanford plays. Hopefully fans get behind it a little more next year.

  • Yea pretty pathetic.

    Having the game at 5pm to nibble on the east coast sack was a horrible idea for people in the Bay area. Combine that with schools that actually take academics seriously and Friday night high school playoffs through out Cali and it was bad planning all together.

  • Just a little FYI for ya I am pretty sure even if they maxed it out they can only fit 50k people in their stadium so no matter what they wouldn't have been able to get more people to that game than the bama spring game. so EABOD
