Denny McClain, Lenny Dykstra, Jack Clark.... there have been a few. But MLB players earn more, and have guaranteed contracts. Plus the lifestyle is a little different, not a ton of off time during the season.

I don't know. You can suck in the NBA and make close to $10 million/year for a decade.

It's not that, it's that many black athletes aren't raised on households that are good with managing money, and unfortunately many blacks period aren't good with money. It's not just them it's the same with any poor demographic. But lets be honest black culture in general is not exactly known for prudence.

Maybe because 30% of them are foreign? I didn't see too many college-level Dominicans. MLB also offers a college scholarship program to pay for your education after your career. I'm using it right now.

Those honestly seem like reasonable statements. I wish our country were in a position where we could discuss these things openly. It just amazes me how people can start to talk race and people automatically throw in the racist card. I guess it shows just how intolerant our society has become. We are so pushed towards being PC that we throw stones at anyone who wants to have honest discussions on issues.

It has to do with the minor league experience. Most of the minor leaguers I know treat life like most broke college kids have. Baseball just has a better culture for development and maturity than exists in college.
