I can't remember, what network is the SEC aligned with?

Big10 aligned with Fox, aka News Corp. Biggest broadcasting sharer in the market.

Slive got fleeced into accepting a crappy deal from ESPN to make a psudo SEC network. Now they are scrambling to get out of the contract.

Making Slive a very dumb man. I guess dumb people can have power, but not the sustainable kind.

Youre dumb for actually believing that.

Yep. He's lucky to have some great football programs in his conference. Honestly, what has he done to enhance the SEC? All of their success can be attributed to the quality of football, not the quality of his decisions. Somehow, the Big Ten is making the most money out of any conference, despite having the oldest tier 1 TV contract. The SEC? If you factor all revenue streams, they are fourth. That debacle lies right at the feet of Slive.

The Most Valuable Conferences In College Sports - Forbes

The five most valuable conferences are set to collect over $1.4 billion this year from bowls, tournaments and television; the bottom five - which includes the Big East - have racked up a measly $175 million from the same sources. That income disparity will only grow in the coming years.

That's a rational argument and it will not be tolerated. SEC fans confuse success on the field with conference success overall. They are good in FB at the top yes but as a whole, the conf is not anywhere near the B1G financially. Delaney doesn't have the trophies that Slive does , but as far as what he's paid to do delaney is much better
SEC fans also wouldn't understand why the Redskins are so valuable when they have been terrible for ever.

The B1G makes too much money to ever be irrelevant.

With our population numbers compared to the B1G regions it will be hard to get to that level. We certainly are closing that gap a ton though. Redskins are so valuable because they are in an NFL crazy area and a very very population rich area.

Deflecting the argument from most powerful to best football conference, makes sense.

  • All Im saying is if, somehow, there were a trade made, in which the SEC and B1G swapped commissioners.... the SEC fanbase wouldn't be one bit upset.

  • Pairing with ESPN was a good short term move. It has helped them in the short term as ESPN has pimped the SEC recently. That won't last forever.

The SEC is very good at football. The B1G is nowhere near as bad as SEC fans like to make it seem. SEC can talk that ish because they are on top but it doesn't mean everyone else is a laughing stock. It just that the jackasses get to speakup for a while and bathe in the fact that their conference is on a hot streak. All streaks end, believe that.

At this point it's not really a hot streak. We have absolutely dominated the BCS era so far.

Which I think was the whole point to begin with. No one was criticizing the SEC football success.

I would not like to make that trade. I don't really want my commissioner to having to go to bed with another conference (PAC12) to poorly attempt to keep up.

It's human nature to be defensive I guess. Even if it seems obvious its not needed. If things were reversed (save the it'll never happen response, just sayin) some B1G fans probably would do the same

Not difficult we we are thinking about adding a team from VT, UNC area. They have population numbers wich means more money. Nothing to do with what we've done on the field.

I personally am not a fan of all the expansion. Penn St was fine and Neb made some sense but outside of money the Maryland and Rutgers do not excite me at all. Nor does adding any of the schools they're talking about now. I think the fans in general kind of get dumped on in the hunt for the money. I kind of like the old school conferences and the rivalries, etc.
