6 SEC teams in the top 10 BCS standings

People think team affiliation effects a human being's opinion. Not sure why people think that. For example...

Memphis fan - "Texas isn't that good this year"

Texas fan - "Memphis fan... really"?

When in fact, it makes no difference who his team affiliation is with, his opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. Its been an annoying thing with message boards since message boards were created.

LOL, look at this WVU fan over here!

LSU and South Carolina have no business being in the top 10. LOL at the 3 2 loss SEC teams ahead of FSU and Clemson.

    100% bias.

Alabama Florida Georgia Texas A&M, but I think A&M should be 10th behind 1 loss FSU and Clemson.

Everyone knows Clemson and FSU are terrible. Florida and South Carolina will prove that in about two weeks.

Also, I would like to point out... Once again, WVU comes up in a conversation that has nothing to do with WVU.

Sure WVU has something to do with it. You said FSU should be ahead of some teams. They would be ahead of those or most of those teams with a WVU win over a Savannah St win. Computers are killing them for having not only 2 FCS teams, but possibly the worst FCS team on their schedule.

Note: I am just giving MM shi!t about WVU backing out of the FSU game, but that is the reason FSU isn't at least 5/6 in the BCS, IMO. I know WVU didn't have a lot of options. They could have kept the game, but it wouldn't have been the smartest move for them either, I know.

Why not? Their only losses have been to 2 of the 3 undefeated teams.

ND is lucky as hell to be undefeated. 3 OTs with Pitt? OT with an average Stanford? They also scraped by Purdue. ND is not that good.

I kind of agree, but you don't have to be the best team in the country every week, just better than the next team you play. If they get to the game and don't deserve it, it will show in the BCSCG. Can't fault a team for just winning, IMO.

I don't fault them for winning. I'm just saying you can't say that they're world beaters. IMO ND is not that good and would lose by 3 TDs to Oregon, K state, and Bama. It would be a mistake to put them in the BCSNC.

Then the mistake will be proven. Under the current system, they deserve a shot if they are one of two undefeateds. If there is 3, they'll be left out I'm sure. It is what it is, IMO.

If Oregon and Kansas St are in the BCSCG, I think it depends on who is #1 in the BCS. If Oregon is #1 ND goes to the Rose Bowl. If Kansas St is #1, then the Fiesta Bowl gets the first pick and I don't think there is any way that they pass up on taking ND if they get a chance to pick them.

I agree. There is no way Alabama squeaks out a victory over Michigan, even if they were handed 5 turnovers.

  • Oklahoma would put 50 up so would USC and Stanford would blow up that soft d line. Bama is exposed they are slow and can't hang with uptempo offenses. Plus he o line is overrated as well. Thanks for playing.

SCar would kill Landry Jones. It would be hard to hang 50 when he is laying on his back 70% of the time

  • Im not sure the issue is the SEC being overrated. The real issue is that their losses to other SEC schools are undervalued. When an SEC team loses to another SEC team, they drop anywhere from 3-6 spots in the polls. Alabama lost to #15 A&M at home by less than a TD and dropped 3 spots. Earlier this year, Oklahoma lost by less than a TD to Kansas St, who was ranked #15 at the time by less than a TD at home and dropped 10 spots.

Clemson dropped 7 spots after losing to FSU
USC dropped 11 spots after losing to Stanford
Stanford dropped 10 sports after losing to ND
South Carolina dropped 4 spots after losing to LSU
South Carolina dropped 6 spots after losing to Florida. By 33 points.
LSU dropped 5 spots after losing to Florida
Florida dropped 5 spots after losing to Georgia

All of those games were ranked teams losing to other ranked teams, but the drops for non SEC teams is less than any other conference are far less.

South Carolina, Florida aren't close....any team that needs a blocked punt against the Rajun Cajuns shouldn't be anywhere NEAR top 15. LSU could fit in around 9-10

    Clemson's wins this year:

Auburn Ball State Furman Boston College Georgia Tech Virginia Tech Wake Forest Duke Maryland

They got blown away in their one important match-up.

LOL at having a team's signature win be over a 5 loss VT, and thinking you should be in the top 10. Everyone needs to stop with this "Clemson should be ranked higher" crap. They have played 1 team inside the to #50, and they got beat, bad.
