USC would of destroyed you guys that year that game would of been a beatdown..

AU played 5 top 15 teams and beat all of them. Only one was a close game and that was the game with #5 LSU.

So please do tell how we would have gotten blasted by that bunch of cheating sisisies at usc.

I am no revisionist. the facts are what they are. Our team showed up in NO and played questionably the worst game we played all year and still kept a top 15 Vtech team in check. And won the game.

I would put 1K on the game if Va tech played OU that year they would have beaten the crap out of them. So what did you learn from teh National Championship game? I know what I learned...That OU still sux and cant play with the big boys.

AU may not have won. But dont be ignorant. The team AU would have lined up with in that game would have tested every single one of those usc kids. At best usc would have won by a td....But in reality. USC shouldnt even be in the picture they were CHEATING. So really AU would have hing 50 on OU as well.

Dont let your bias towards one team cloud better judgement.

Every team has a couple of close games when you're going through the schedule but when you get 30 days to prepare for a team its a whole different ball game. USC 04 would of destroyed Auburn in the NC game if you recall the year beofre they beat them 23-0 at Auburn..

An AU team with no OCord.. Yes they did beat us.

But bama beat AU in 2009....Then we beat them in 2010. So what is your point. What happens one year doesnt mean a thing on what will happen the next.

Ask any usc fan and they are thrilled they got to play OU. OU was AWFUL. If they would have played AU it would have been much more than a game.

But keep on dreamin that dream. Maybe in it duh U will actually become relevant again!

Refer to my post to see why the year before matters none.

You're lucky the BCS didn't put you in that game or that would be your team getting embarassed on national TV, whose going to stop REggie Bush, Steve Smith, d Byrd, lendale white? C'mon they would of hung 50 on you guys easy..

I'm not an auburn fan. It would have been a close game. I don't care if you throw all those big names at me. Games are played on the field, and all that star power struggled mightily in like 5 games. Not just once as you keep saying. Two of those games were against bad teams. USC was very beatable that year regardless of what they looked like on paper.

Our defense was #1 in the nation that year in scoring and #3 over all.

ND's defense was ranked number 1 till they played the tide, stats are overrated look at the talent the trojans had on offense they would of scored early and often against your defense.

    jmsmooth33

  • We had an outstanding offense that year. USC cheated anyway. That's like saying Mark McGwire is the best player ever

I said it back then & I'm saying it now...Auburn should have been in the big dance in '04, but nobody was beating that USC team.

AU should have been there for sure. I think it would have been a game, however, where it could have gone to either team. Both teams were loaded with talent. Whatever your opinion as to how a mythical 2004 AU vs. USC game would have gone, we can all agree that it would have been a lot more compelling than the @$$ raping Oklahoma took. 35-0 at halftime! I hope all the AP voters in the press box had a come to Jesus moment after that game.

Exactly USC dominates every team they play except one slip up at Oregon State, Florida loses to Ole Miss but they get in over them just dumb, the fact that you guys played each other in the title game last year just shows how biased the polls are..

That Ole Miss team that everyone gives no credit to because they are Ole Miss went on to the Cotton Bowl and absolutely destroyed the Big 12 co-champ and one of the "greatest offenses ever". Bring some facts to the table instead of spewing ridiculous crap.

That USC team had Clay Matthews, Maulauaga, Cushing, Maivia thats 4 LB's drafted in the pro's not bad eh? Florida's loss was also at home while USC's was on the road. USC destroyed basically everyone that year and almost held ND w/o a first down for an entire game, idc how bad they are that's still one of the most impressive things I have ever witnessed. SEC bias, USC should of been in that game no doubt..
