I think they are trying to replace Jeyne Westerling with her.

I think she is Jeyne, but "in disguise" because the Westerlings are a house sworn to the Lannisters.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

A theory of mine is the Jon is A'zor Ahai reborn, and the Bran will become the great other.

Melisandre will bring Jon back to life, and since he died, his watch will have ended and he will be free of his vows to the night watch.

I don't think Bran becomes the great other. I think he's the next green seer and will become a tree.

I bet Rickon ends up being the next "Lord Stark" when it's all said and done.

Unless he's been eaten by cannibals on Skaagos of course.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I'm pretty sure you can just call the series "A Song of Ice and Fire . . . . Everybody Dies Edition"

It's in the third book when they get married right?

It actually happens off-screen during the 2nd book, you hear about it in Book 3 though. Towards the end of Book 2, you hear about Rob being injured taking the Crag; that's when he meets Jeyne, they bone and he feels he has to marry her for her honor's sake. And because she's hot. And because she's not a Frey lol.

You might be right. Her story about being from Volantis sounds fishy.

  • I just read the part where Brienne gets offed. I actually liked her character so that's a bummer.

  • Ok quick question guys - I'm a little more than halfway through book three, so don't give any major spoilers if possible. I just need a general answer. Does the Arya storyline ever get better? She's just been taken by the hound and they're about to cross the river in the two headed horse. The parts at harrenhall and with lord Beric were good, but I was also getting ready for her plot to finally advance. I'd rather see her reunited with at least one family member other than Sansa, or at least just not a constant captive of a different group or person. So in general, does it get better soon? If she goes back to Kings landing and is stuck there I'll be pissed. Thanks and I dont mind a general answer but no spoilers please.

  • Well damn it now Rob's dead. I love these books but I hate them at the same time. Killing Ned was one thing, giving the North to the Greyjoys, the lannisters always finding a way to win, etc.... But eventually Martin will have killed off all of the "good" characters. Now who knows what will happen with Arya. This is getting to the point of being frustrating.

True. But I always rooted for the North. I know that's the point and he prides himself on making no character untouchable, but still. I know Bran, Rickon, and Arya are still out there as wildcards, but even if one or even all three grow older and rise up, who would even fight for them. It seems almost all loyal Northmen are slain, and I can only guess that Riverrun won't hold long with Lannisters at the Trident and the Freys in their newfound position. I guess the only hope is the mother of dragons. Oh well, I can tell that old bastard is just going to have the Lannisters win this whole damn thing in the end. I guess I need to leave this thread before I see spoilers, but I have nowhere else to vent haha

  • All that I am going to say is to not give up on the Starks yet. Well that and the good thing is that the only Lannisters left standing will be your favorite characters by the end (at least where it stands now).

P.S. you don't think the Freys will suffer some consequences for slaying guests in their home?

It gets better. I think you'll be a little bit less frustrated after you finish book 3... for a bit anyways...

This is a very encouraging post. However, as far as the Lannisters, the only one I like is Tyrion. I know some people like Jamie but I can't see myself ever going over to that group. Cersei needs to die but I know she is still alive in the next books. The rest all certainly suck. At the rate I've been reading I should be done with the existing books by the end of June if not before. I don't know how I'll wait so long for the next two.
