ACC TV deal?

Im with you rivver ( bad comparison ) but FSU/Miami is the top rivalry in the ACC

    Its not even arguable/debatable iyam

Which is why he should have compared it to OU/Texas.

It would be interesting to see the ratings comparison between those two games.

  • Did you know that OU/UT is more interesting than Wake Forest/Duke?

That doesn't really prove anything since OU/UT is on ABC every year.

  • This contract is just another step to FSU leaving. It's black and white that we can't afford to stay. Literally and figuratively. We not need two things to happen: Big 12 to invite us and the FSU brass to not get some kind of random reason we shouldn't join lodged in their gray matter and hesitate too long and then balk.

It really should be simple. FSU is a football school. Always has been, always will be. ACC is a basketball conference that expanded with Syracuse and Pitt. Two programs that can't come close to selling out their stadiums and have some of the worst TV ratings in the BCS.

Big 12 is a football conference. If FSU leaves, then others will leave as well. Clemson, VT, Miami, Maryland.... These football schools will look elsewhere. Put FSU with Texas, Oklahoma, WVU, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and bring Clemson along and that is one hell of a football conference that will rake in the cash with high profile match ups.

    I'm totally with you.

Not to mention those would be some awesome matchups to watch going forward.

Hell, my GF went to OU...we'd become a house divided type situation.

Awful for relationship I'm sure...but awesome football...fair trade off IMO.

It would be nice if OU/UT was held at Jerruh World and primetime but I imagine the Cotton Bowl and State Fair people would throw massive hissy fits about it being moved though.

Really good job of taking the 2 most storied programs in the ACC over the past 30 yrs and comparing them to Ok St. and Bayor.

In terms of profile, Okla State and Baylor were higher last year.

Just saying, that's abnormal. The historical norm should be re-established.

The ACC simply has higher profile schools all with a much larger home market footprint than the ACC.

FSU, Miami, VT, Clemson, UNC, GT, Clemson should = Texas, Oklahoma, OKSt, Baylor, KState, TSC etc

TAM and Nebraska are gone. Lower revenue could really hurt in facilities. If the conference can't keep up in that race, I agree. But there is definite upside in exposure with and recruiting with ESPN.

  • SEC is about to put a hurtin on ESPN so they got to go cheap somewhere. I honestly think SEC may make close to 40 mill a team.

Mainly because of what ESPN is now paying the ACC and others.

If you say so, but I doubt it. The SEC could make a ton more money by doing what the B10 and P12 have done: start a network. But short of that, I don't see them getting anything close to $40 million out of ESPN anytime soon.

  • I either want John Swofford to get kidnapped and us get a new commissioner or us go to the Big 12.

Also, there will be a college football "bubble" if things continue on the current path. The amount of money being thrown around is unsustainable.

Aren't most of those the Monday night labor day games? Big shocker the first game of the season with no competition would have the most viewers.
