ACC/Big 12

  • IMHO we are heading towards four 16 team conferences with BIG TEN, PAC-12 and the SEC stable and growing so which one survives and which one dies between the ACC and the Big 12. I think the Big 12 will expand and the ACC will die.

Big 12 because it is football oriented and already has a much better TV deal. ACC will be poached.

The PAC 12 cant expand without Big 12 teams.

If that happens Miami will go independent.

BYU / Boise St / SDSU are great schools for the Pac 12 .

The only one they could add is BYU, the rest don't fit their criteria.

nope. Doesn't matter though, the PAC-12's spot is safe no matter what the scenario. No need to expand at all, though I personally would have taken the Oklahoma Schools last year when we had the chance, that would have most likely hurt the Big-12 to the point where we would have gotten Texas as well a few years down the road.

BYU has 0% chance of being accepted into the PAC-12. Only religious school that the PAC-12 would take is Notre Dame.

    Nor does BYU.

I wouldn't say 0%. I agree that there are many more options that the PAC12 would explore before taking them, but IF everyone has the number 16 in their mind, BYU goes somewhere, I would bet. Personally I would say the Big12 is a better fit for them, since there already are religious schools in that conference and that conference has shown that they would allow a team with their own TV contract to keep their network which I am sure BYU would want to do since they just started the BYU Network.

2nd of all, the PAC12 already has a team in Utah and the Big12 does not.

Lastly, the thinking in Provo doesn't allign with any schools in the PAC12, which is the point you are getting at.

I am not saying I would go much higher than 0%, but if forced with a decision with BYU and a Fresno St or UNLV, BYU looks pretty good if you don't focus on the limitations. The toughest criteria with BYU is that they don't participate in anything on Sunday, which I think is the toughest bump for them getting into any major conference at the moment.

I think Boise and SDSU get in the PAC12 before BYU, honestly.
