ALABAMA VS AUBURN

  • Ladies and gentlemen, I give you....failure on so many levels by so many ruhtards. I would like to know other fans opinions. When you think Alabama and rivalry does Tennessee jump to the front of your mind and if so why?

    I agree Tennessee is a rival but not close to AU in intensity or scope.

    Didn't bother to check that as I didn't figure it was worthy of VIP. Basically a bunch of Bama elitists saying that AU doesn't deserve the title of being a rival to Bama and that AUs entire reason for continuing its football program is because of the Bama game and Bama doesn't need them. UT is somehow our biggest rival and AU shouldn't be considered. AU's rivals are Georgia and Somehow UF. But not Bama.

    I'm 28. I see why they are a rival and maybe why some really older fans would say our biggest. But only because we didn't play AU every year back in the day. That is the reason why UT would even be considered. The mere reason we didn't play AU for so long is proof of the rivalry.

  • Well, that's just stupid. The Iron Bowl is one of the 3 best rivalry games in college football (at least when it comes to passion of the fans, even if the game hasn't been great recently). Why would anyone want to end that?

  • Makes no sense at all. Two bad year in a row doesn't mean too much. Auburn is 6-4 against in the past 10 years and 11-9 in the past 20. I would call it a solid rivalry. Both teams have had bad teams in this period of time and very good teams in this period of time. 12 of the 20 games were won by 7 points or less. Auburn was shut out 2 times and Alabama was shut out once. That would be a bad decision. If I remember correctly Bama did not want Auburn to go to the east recently.

And some of them have made there way over here to down vote my rational view point without offering their own. Don't get me wrong I can't stand Auburn and love beating you guys. I'm sure you are the same about Bama, most of my AU friends are the same way. I love the rivalry. Doesn't mean I think they aren't our rivals because of the run we've been on lately. If we lose to Tennessee I don't have to hear about it, it just sucks that we lost. If we lose to Auburn it's a 364 day nightmare. That is why AU is our biggest rival.
