AP: No delays in Libya

  • BamaLivesFootba said...

Yea. Trumping it over and over again and using it to paint the adminstration's glaringly successful last four years as a failure has nothing political about it at all.

It has profitable overtones too. All those schmucks who keep Fox News and the Blaze running.

You sound like you are severely butt hurt about the truth being out. Maybe we should act like Libs for a minute...

Obama is using hurricane Sandy for political gain

Which do you consider a more glaring foreign policy success, Egypt or Libya?

Both actually. I know cons want to fret over the Muslim Brotherhood, but money talks and Egypt is about to get the US MNC treatment.

Libya is about the same, but not as bad. As these countries become more integrated in the global economy, the more pressure they will feel to marginalized the groups who actually exert violence.

The extremist wings won't go away entirely, that's as religiously existential as the moral majority here, but it can be minimalized.

Wait -- you're saying only conservatives should be worried about the Muslim Brotherhood running a country? As in, only dumb rednecks think this is a problem? Is the problem with Egypt that we haven't given them enough money up until now or something?

I've never seen a bigger political homer in my life.

    A) I believe in determinism for other countries.

    B) Given the current domestic, regional and global pressures, the MB in a democracy would not be the same as MB aligned with an autocracy.

    C) No its not aid, its the general spread of capitalism and its benefits that change people (e.g. China, most Arabian peninsula nations, Turkey). You'll begin to see these countries succumb to the dollar and change their political policies to reflect this, at least to an extent.

  • These threads have become boring. Who gives a damn. In a week we'll either get 4 more years of Obama or 4 years minimum with Romney. It probably time just to shut the fvck about it and let the people decide. I have no doubt the people are still just as stupid as they were 4 years ago. Lets just get this over with and rip up the Constitution and start over.

  • Serious question, to both sides: Is there such thing as reputable journalism anymore? Doesn't matter who writes it, be it FOX or CNN or NBC or the AP, someone always comes in here and does the roflmao face and says something about how it's hilarious to use "x" news source as reputable information. Who on earth is then? shrug

What I learn in political threads:

    1. No news source is trustworthy.

    2. Everything's a conspiracy.

    3. Cynicism is king.

    4. Good things by my side should be shouted from the mountain tops.

    5. Bad things by my side should be discredited, belittled, and/or covered up regardless of how great or terrible they are for society.

I don't watch cable news but from a print/digital perspective, The Economist is about the only thing I read on a regular basis where I its not completely obvious which side they're taking with their articles. That's not to say they don't take a side with op/ed stuff, but IMO it's the last bastion of hope. The only reason I still use Yahoo is because there's an occasional worthwhile email I still receive in that account and I use it to sign up for bullshit online contests, but also its a good place to catch new newsworthy bits of info. But each political article, mostly AP contributed, feels like a veiled attempt to convince me to vote for the (D) candidate. Even the last car review article had a political slant.

There's a great article that just came out from The Economist on which US POTUS candidate they're supporting.

Presidential candidate declares stop to campaign and call back to Washington to take on greatest financial disaster since 1929...it's ill-informed and for political gain.

    Welcome to 2008 dipshit.

The U.S. effort in Benghazi was at its heart a CIA operation, with most of the staff evacuated from the U.S. consulate after the Sept. 11 attack working for the agency.

I disagree with you stache. If we elect romney the economy will boom. Putting an end to obamacare will free up our market. Putting our country toward energy independence will create a lot of jobs. Not the B.S. Green jobs we are always promised.

Wow that's a load off. For a minute there I thought we'd actually phucked up and Americans had died and the president got caught lying about about a video which sparked a protest that never existed. Glad to know that isn't the case and this all worked out for the best.
