It really is amazing to me how MSU fans view on recruiting has...evolved the last 2-3 years. In 2009 all I heard about was how Dantonio was locking down the State of Michigan and landing a bunch of 4 star recruits. Now they are basically irrelevant.
Obviously all that matters in the end is what you do on the field. Duh. But the bottom line is Dantonio has had very little success recruiting against Michigan since Hoke arrived. Hoke has landed upwards of 20 players with early MSU offers- going by MSU fans logic on Dantonio and his talent evaluation skills, Hoke must be bringing in a lot of good players.

Hoke is bringing in talent and good players; definitely see that. The trick is to have it translate to the field. But, we won't know that for another year or two. I think we will see Michigan struggle the next 2-3 years. This years schedule is a lot tougher due to playing on the road as opposed to having most of their tough games at home. Also, they are going to have to rely on young offensive lineman to play early on. I believe I read somewhere that after this season they will be filling 8-10 offensive lineman positions in the two deep will true or redshirt freshman. As talented as their offensive line recruits are, it's tough for them to come in and make an impact early. Ideally, you let o-lineman marinade for a few years at the college level after tansitioning from high school. The size and strength of the defensive lineman at the college level is a big adjustment for young o-lineman. Of course, there are exceptions, but we'll have to wait and see. So, I believe michigan will have a few tough years, but expect that they'll be very competitive after that if a portion of their recruits pan out. A higher rated recruit is more likely to be a productive college player, but it is no guarentee (see rich rod).

Please show where I spun it. Why are u getting defensive? I said Hoke has recruited well. We will see how well in a few years. I even said that I think they'll be very competitive once his recruits hit the field. My point is that with the youth on the O-line I THINK, could be wrong, that they will struggle a bit the next few years. I only mentioned Rich Rod to show that high level recruits don't always pan out. But, the odds are with your team because of the number of high level recruits.
I apologize for trying to have a reasonable discussion; by no means was I attempting to bash Hoke or michigan. I guess that's what I get for posting with a U of M guy who can't evaluate his own team and their potential shortcomings.
All u do is try and disprove every comment that is anything but absolutely complimentary of your team. Congrats, you're a home with maze and blue galsses!

Okay, my numbers weren't exact, but wouldn't say making stuff up. Good chance Lewan leaves after this year. So, 7 of 10 will be young and inexperienced. Even then, according to your numbers, two starters are red shirt sophomores. That isn't exactly seasoned. Does that mean they're in trouble, no. But it is concerning and definitely not ideal.

Did you attend it yourself to gauge the talent? Or are you going off the stereotypes against Michigan high school football?
