Al Borges to Alabama as OC

Exactly, actions speak louder than a supposed quote from supermario.

Him and Chizik got a long great.

Would you consider that a "homerun" hire? I sure would

  • When Borges was asked about leaving Michigan for other Offensive Coordinator vacancies,

"No," Borges said. "This is Michigan, for god sakes." In the noble words of someone we all know and love

If Alabama comes calling, he's gone. I will promise you that.

As for me being a delusional, "dumbass" (I find it particularly funny that you call me that but you cannot spell it right.), redneck... No sir, not at all. I call it like I see it. Well, the "dumbass" accusation has be debunked with your awesome spelling skills. Redneck, you couldn't be more wrong.

What word is spelled wrong here?

  • I would actually really like the hire. In fact, I said a few months ago he would be my pick if CJM left.

I think the guy is a great play caller and that's about all we need. He always found a way to get the ball in the hands of his playmakers. He used Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams in a two back set where he split them out and would use one to block for the other or sometimes send them both out for a pass. He was good at what he did and TT firing him is what cost him his job.

Sorry, but you're playing way out of your league. Zero chance.

  • Also, Bama could offer more money, believe it or not.

No, they couldn't. They might be willing to, but I doubt it. And if it came down to which school could offer more, it would be Michigan and it's not even close.

His actions are that he is the OC at Michigan. So, in that respect, I agree. His actions speak very loudly.

And, FWIW, "Him and Chizik got a long great" is exactly the type of sentence I would expect from someone like you.

    we aren't talking endowments here.

bama has shown it can and will pay as much or more than anyone for the right coach.

and yes, i know mich can and will as well.

there is a limit for what each will pay for a coord, and both could easily reach that limit (prob around 1 mil for both, give or take) and would come down to who put it up first and/or if the other would match.

i doubt either will pay that for borges. prob max out at 500k. both can easily afford anything borges is worth.

Yep, this sums it up nicely. Well reasoned post. +1.

  • I hate to break it to the SEC folks here, but Michigan is a lot better program, and has a lot more resources at its disposal than anyone in the SEC. If you think any coordinator is going to be lured away, you're simply delusional.

    Agree, this is spot on.

What is comes down to is, where does Borges want to be? Money will not end up being a significant factor.

If you're talking football programs, how can you with a straight face say Michigan is a better program? Better past? No, at best it's a push. Better present? Um, no. Better future? Um, no. What ate you basing this on? Tradition? Um no. Both have there deep rooted traditions. Don't say academics because that has nothin to do with the football programs.

You're insane. Michigan has more wins. Not by much. Alabama has more Ap/coaches/ BCS titles, more bowl wins, etc. we could argue all day but I'm not trying to argue about which is the better program all time. I'm just by stupid enough to believe Either without question has a better past. Apparently you are.
