Anybody can mess with the numbers to make that work and I'm sure you could with this. He also could have said something that was slightly different than what the kid said in the interview.

not all schools do. but that is the maximum a school can have. im sure Alabama has 85 though. so bama graduates about 55 out of every 85 players

Right. I remember reading that one year under Pete Carroll, USC only had like 70 or 75 players on scholarship. I know Iowa has been closer to 80 a couple times in the past decade.

outliers. the overwhelming majority of fbs schools have 85 players on scholarship.
either way, 67% for bama comes nowhere close to 2nd only to stanford. just saban being saban. not sure why anyone is surprised.

iirc, ncaa gives athletes 6 years to complete the degree.
counts towards the apr as well - positively if he was in good standing, negatively if he blew off the spring semester.

Coaches don't graduate players, players graduate from schools. You can get a degree anywhere, they're all universities.
