Also, if you visit another school, then Michigan no longer considers you committed. They will start pursuing other options.

How wimpy...any player is game till LOI day.
I will never understand telling a player he can't visit another school once he commits, if you have so little confidence your program can keep him, you don't belong in big boy recruiting. Players should take all the visits they can, make sure what they want, it's a kid's life decision.
May the best program win, and good luck to the kid so he choses what is best for him.

The coaches view it as don't commit until you're done with the process. If you commit, it should be the end of your recruitment. People seem to have problems understanding what the word commitment actually means. It doesn't mean hold a spot until something better comes along or until they can make up their mind.

kids don't understand the word COMMITTMENT.
Nobody is putting a gun to their head to make them commit. Pretty simple solution...don't commit unless you are 110% sure.
Otherwise, keep your mouth shut and don't give your word to the coaches, players, and other recruits that you are in.

I agree with you but I also feel that once you commit you should stay committed unless some special situation happened like at Psu last year.

No, coaches are trying to visit Michigan recruits. The recruits aren't rushing to meet them at the door. Quote from Dawson.
“Florida stopped by,” Dawson said. “They were the only ones I know about today. I wasn’t really in school, my teammates told me they were up there. I called Coach (Bryant) Young and told him I wasn’t up there, but it was Coach (Tim) Davis that came to the school.”
