Alabama becoming an NFL draft factory

NFL teams pick players based upon need and talent/character, not on what a player's uniform looked like in college. To assert anything else is silly and unprofessional. If Saban's coaching and player development skills are so superior, I'm sure another NFL gig awaits him with open arms and wallet.

    U mad dude?

Auburn is going to have more nfl prospects than bama starting in 2013. I know this because a post on the bunker with 20 upvotes said so...They have some monster 208 lb mike backers

I've seen a lot of crazy stuff on the BOL also so let's settle down. Right now we have more NFL players in the league. In a few days you guys will. We will have some in 2013 but I doubt it will be enough to put us over. It will be close and it will be close for a while IMO.

Alabama and many SEC schools didn't have African American players until ~40 years ago in the early 1970s. Many of the eventual NFL guys that would have gone to Bama went to Grambling, Jackson St and other HBCUs and some went to other regions of the country to play.

A family friend (of the older members of my family born before 1960) happened to be one of the 1st African American players at Bama...... Wilbur Jackson. He happened to be a 1st Round Pick (#9 overall) in 1974.

Perhaps a total post integration would be more telling.

    Perhaps it would.

That is one of the reasons I have to give John McKay a ton more respect...Bear Bryant was fighting to make his team better by integrating it. John McKay (who was born and raised in West Virginia) knew full well that by supporting BB in his plan, would basically end the pipeline to the great southern players. He agreed to what was right.

I was at USC when that game in 1970 happened.

Nope. We will probably have a few but not many. 2014 and 2015 should be our big years in the draft if we don't have a whole lot of juniors leave.

Ours should be big but that is projecting a bit. We'll see.
