Alabama finishes No. 1 for 2012

Alabama continues to attract top talent to its campus. The Crimson Tide finished with the country's top recruiting class for the second consecutive recruiting cycle.

  • Bama certainly signed one heck of a class. Props to them.

I do think FSU signed the better class last year but I'm pretty biased and it's splitting hairs anyway.

When they left the Big 12 they lost their foothold in Texas. Recruiting has suffered as a result. Watch and see what happens to Missouri (think they have had 6 Texas decommits since they announced).

To be honest, we lost 6-7 guys to in-state teams in Cali this year. UCLA stole three alone I believe. Nobody is disputing that it will be tougher digging out talent from Texas going forward.

  • Are the team rankings still based only on the top 17 recruits for each team, or on all of them?

why, cuz we only signed the #1 kicker in the country this year?

  • could you explain how the rankings work a little bit. Not that it realy matters Im just curious why Cal is ahead of us. We both have 17 commits. Nebraska has 6 4*, 10 3*, and a 2* Cal has 6 4*, 6 3*, 5 2*. And our average is higher. If you could just elaborate on how it is calculated I would appreciate it. Thanks

Probably 9 or so. Saban started an Auburn recruit relief program and we're going to spot you some guys over the next few yrs to keep TV ratings up.

That would be the ones that he cuts their 1 year scholarship to make room for the oversigned class (Sleazy Saban Process). Saban exhibits the bama win at all cost attitude well. It will catch up with him and he will move on.

When a recruit signs with Auburn, he gets a 4 year scholarship and becomes part of the family. He never has to worry about being cut. Coach Chizik won't throw him away because he is injured.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

sounds like Auburn's players have a big incentive to work hard.

  • I think Alabama signed 111 over the last three years. That is simply cheating. They should have an astericks next to their ranking. Schools are only allowed 85 scholarship players. Bama recruits 25-30 every year. They use these kids. Schools that honor 4 year commitments to kids who never gt off the bench should be rated separately.

Dude, you can't even spell asterisk*

Anyway, lots of those kids over 85 either went to the NFL, transferred because they wanted PT, transferred due to suspension because they violated team rules, or were injured and took a medical scholly.

Either way it was their choice, whatever happened to them. Saban didn't cut anyone because they wouldn't be playing.
