Alabama finishes No. 1 for 2012

I think Alabama signed 111 over the last three years. That is simply cheating. They should have an astericks next to their ranking. Schools are only allowed 85 scholarship players. Bama recruits 25-30 every year. They use these kids. Schools that honor 4 year commitments to kids who never gt off the bench should be rated separately.

And you should have an "astericks" on any educational degree you may have.

I couldn't agree with you more. The seventh kid who verballed to them this past year was all set to sign with them on signing day. He was at his school ready to sign with Alabama when he get a text saying they would have to Greyshirt him his first year. He stormed of the stage and later verballed to Arkansas. He wanted to go with Bama so much he verballed almost a year ago.....Then he got Sabanned!!! I heard it happened with a kid who verballed even earlier that this kid. Why offer a kid a schollie and then pull it on National Signing Day? How could Saban ruin a kids most exciting day. There should be a law against this. You have to follow through on your promised Scholarship to a kid. You are not allowed to offer and then yank it out of the kids hands on National signing day. That is cruel.

Are the team rankings still based only on the top 17 recruits for each team, or on all of them?

That would be the ones that he cuts their 1 year scholarship to make room for the oversigned class (Sleazy Saban Process). Saban exhibits the bama win at all cost attitude well. It will catch up with him and he will move on.

When a recruit signs with Auburn, he gets a 4 year scholarship and becomes part of the family. He never has to worry about being cut. Coach Chizik won't throw him away because he is injured.

The only prospects that care about getting "4-year scholarships" are the ones that suck. Seriously, good prospects know they are good and don't fear getting cut. Shitty ones do.

    lets see....111 / 3 = 37

So you're saying Bama has signed on average 37 players per year the last 3 years.

Sorry, but Bama hasn't even signed 30 in any of the last 3 years.

  • first of all bama has signed 101 players... in the last FOUR years. get your numbers right if you are going to play this game.

second of all, since January of 2009 Bama has had Glenn Coffee, Mark Ingram, Kareem Jackson, Julio Jones, Marcel Dareus, Andre Smith, Rolando McClain, and Dre Kirkpatrick all go pro early (and these are only the ones i can remember off the top of my head). that leaves 93.

Destin Hood and Melvin Ray both got drafted to play Pro Baseball. that leaves 91.

Corey Grant, Demetrius Goode, BJ Scott, Star Jackson, and Alonzo Lawrence all transferred to get more playing time. that leaves 86.

Robby Green got caught by the NCAA for doing steroids and left the team because of an indefinite suspension. thats 85.

And I haven't even MENTIONED these "behavioral transfers" or "medical scholarships" that all of you oversigning nazi's point to as your evidence for this.

This is one of the reasons that AU is merely a speed bump for Bama (see the '08 game 36-0 and the '11 game 42-14). Saban and his staff hold their players accountable for their performance and work ethic (NFL standards), while AU doesn't hold their players to the same standards. Your program uses a Tee-ball mentality, in that everyone gets a trophy just for participating. Obviously you're ok with this, so enjoy you place with the Mississippi State's of the world as a mediocre SEC team.

Dont let it frustrate you dude, facts mean nothing to these guys, their teams dont get results, so instead of trying to make their programs better, they look for reasons to hate the others success.

@YLLarry - again you need to get your facts straight as well. You are mixing information on two seperate cases. But thats understandable since they are very similiar. Both had major kneee injuries, both had been advised that their knee would not be ready to play next year. Both were aware of this and both were asked to greyshirt. Neither had voiced much of a problem with it at the time, and both had plans to accept greyshirting. Both have since changed their minds and signed with Arkansas and Kentucky respectively. Both will likely spend next year rehabbing and getting back to full strength while redshirting. Hopefully both will have a successful career. So the question really is, if you find it so objectionable to ask someone to delay enrollment for 6 months in order to rehab, why did your school pull his offer completely once he was injured in the first place? Once it was clear that he was looking elsewhere, why did your school not even bother recruiting him again? The emotional display at the signing ceremony was because he had received a last minute offer from Arkansas and was now conflicted on what he should do.

I love how all the barners are throwing out the 4 year scholly talk like it is a tradition or something. This is the first year you have done it and it is just because 43% of chizez first two classes are no longer with the team. He is trying to figure out a way to make them stay.
