Alabama played in 5 of the top 16 most-viewed games during the regular season, including 3 of the top 4. So 75% of the the top 4 games this year contained Alabama. Yeah, no one cares.

Honestly, I think most people who pay attention to college football simply already knew what was going to happen. This wasn't a matchup between the two best teams in the country, it was a matchup between one of the best teams in the country and an ok team that backed into an NC on the basis of a broken system.
Alabama is great for college football, IMO, because everyone wants to see a team slay the giant. Games like the TAMU game and the SECCCG (where the other team actually belongs on the field) are amazing to watch, and people will tune in when the opponent can actually put up a fight.

Some how strength of schedule has to be accounted for. It may be hard to quantify but it would have prevented ND from being hyped into the No 1 ranking and slotted into the BCSCG that they did not belong in.

Is this the highest rates nc game on espn? Hard to compare espn ratings and abc ratings.
