Well, it seems that everyone knows exactly what happened. Now news is coming out that the initial neutral site offer was to be at some, probably shoddy and dilapidated, venue in Chicago.
So, this kind of busts up the argument about Alabama not being willing to travel up to the scary, brutally violent, and cold North. It seems Alabama was bending over backwards to entice this nobody team to come and be destroyed but, they didn't have it in them to accept.

It was a joke, but since we're acting like dicks, is it so bad that I don't see the point of this thread anymore? It's sole purpose was to start a flame war, and, it succeeded. I was just asking to end it because it's pointless to argue opinions when people aren't going to agree with yours. How was my statement so out there.

That is a falsehood and you have no right to make that assumption. The purpose of the thread was to ridicule the angle that was given to this story by the Dirtwater Local Wisconsin paper, and subsequently picked up by the national media, in which Saban was made to look as if he was approached and backed out.
That is also false. Saban contacted Wisconsin first.

No, you do not have any right to assume this was a flame thread. It was no such thing. That you wish to now call me derogatory names in defense of your assumption even lowers my opinion of you more. It doesn't reflect well on you.
That some Michigan fans, due to their feelings of love and kinship with Wisconsin, chose to flame in this thread doesn't mean it was started out that way. This is what they wanted. How long have you been on the Internet?

People would argue for the sake of arguing, BUT I agree with you wholeheartedly....this thread is retarded. I'm pretty sure any sane person knows that Bama isn't afraid to play Wisky anywhere, and I'd venture Wisky isn't afraid of Bama. They were looking for different things, IMO. I can't disagree w/ my school using it's massive leverage to say "This is what we want, take it or leave it." Pretty much 3/4 of the posts are trolls to keep the argument going. Thread is worthless.

Yes, I do. And it was indeed a flame thread for the most part. Like you haven't called every other poster on here that disagrees with your opinion derogatory names. You did it to Scooter and Barny. so don't give me that crap. If only I cared what you thought of me...

I know, 2007 & 2008 Tress scheduled His old school, YSU. Pretty lame.
In 2007, Alabama scheduled Western Carolina (FCS) 2009 - Chattanooga 2010 - Georgia State 2011 - Georgia Southern
According to my FBS math skills, that is double. As a fan, I would be embarrassed.
Edit - look at your future FCS competition

Big Ten teams only play OOC schedules in the month of September. The cold weather factor is out of the equation.
On a side note, I'd love to play Wisconsin but I can understand the reasoning behind not playing them. I'm sure Bama is not the first school to ever decline a home and home.
