How do you feel they didn't know them? What athletic department has players that don't know the coaches and players from each sport? Lol thats funny.... When I was running track the football players were some of my closest friends... the girls basketball players were always around... and everyone had classes together.

-And I stated previously THAT BAMA WAS THE BEST TEAM IN CFB LAST YEAR.... but they did not show up to the game and they lost for no reason...

They lost to Iowa State in OT, we lost to the #1 team in country in OT. Lets say LSU lost 2 games during the season and they beat us. We go on to win the SEC with 1 loss...do you think we play in the natty with 1 lose to a top ten team? Yes, but if we lose to the #1 team we dont?

    ^^^answer this part

And btw if Oklahoma State would have won, the tragedy would have been considered motivation. We had a multiple tornadoes tear through our state, and im not trying to compare the tragedies, but both happened to each team and should not be considered at all. Its how you respond to the tragedy that matters.

I understand the nature of the game and the way OSU came out was as if they were going to win the game. And I understand why you would say that argument isn't good... But being an unbiased person in this(I understand how difficult that may be with your team) would you actually pick a team that just did not perform to their talent over a team that lost its only game of the year the day after a major tragedy by 6 pts in a 2OT game? Like seriously. Trust me I am not hating on Bama and whoever said I was butthurt must be trippin because I have no reason to be. Im just stating the obvious, not dissing your program at all, nor am I trying to say your team wasn't the best team in the country. Even during the first game you dominated LSU and never capitalized on it. But when a better team loses they just lose out. To me the BCS just made a mistake.... its an opinion that I doubt any Alabama fan would agree with but whatever. In my opinion a loss after a major school tragedy>a loss @ home because your FG kickers missed 3x...

I think a team that lost to the #1 team in the nation in overtime is more deserving than a team that lost in OT to a 6-6 (6-7 if you include bowl game) team. Me being an Alanama fan has nothing to do with it. The tragedy didn't affect their game prep that week. It would have only affected their readiness for the game, which they came out to a 24-7 lead in the 3rd which eliminates that.

I just don't see any reasonable argument for a team who lost to a 6-6 team in OT being more deserving than a team who lost to a 12-0 team in OT.

I enjoyed it! Wasn't any worse that watching Florida's domination over you guys in 2006, IMO. Any BCSCG that is a blowout is a let down for those not involved. Personally, I like a dominant defensive performance by my team.

I think both LSU and Arky are better teams this year than Bama, opinion.

You are playing Michigan the first game. Potential upset no matter how you think about it. Michigan is a good team.

You play Tamu after LSU and its a new type of team to deal with-I don't expect you to lose this game but its a potential upset in the making.

And AU is your rival and no matter how you twist it I always put rivalry games down as potential upsets just because bragging rights are on the line and teams come into that game as prepared as ever. I don't expect AU to have a great season so this would be their highlight of the season.

That's 5 games I feel Bama could lose. Like I said I think the LSU and Arky games are the games you will lose: 10W

I stated 3 games I feel you could lose in and also stated that I doubt seriously you lose to Tamu leaving 2 games: 8W

Which is why I said I think you will win 8-10 games... I feel you will most likely end up at 10 but that was why I stated I like ranges because I accounts for those games you can slip up in.

-I could have easily said 11W but like I said I feel Arky will beat you this year.

Edit: I used the word expect instead of feel in my original post. Just acknowledging that.

I won't argue LSU because i think you are most likely correct. I think we are very close but if i had to pick who I thought was better i would say LSU. However, I do not agree with Arky at all. This isn't a slam against Arky but they have always been a team with a very strong QB, great receiving corp, and had a great offensive mind at HC. They were avg, maybe slightly above average, everywhere else IMO. This year you take away the receivers and the HC (losing Petrino is huge) and I just don't see them being nearly as strong. I'm not saying they aren't good, because they are, but not on last year's level by any means. Personally, I like Michigan against us way better than Arky. As for the rest, don't have an issue with. I had us in the 9+ range with Michigan and LSU as the games I thought we had the greatest chance of losing and leaving the possiblity of an Arky/aTm pulling an upset.

It was a defensive work of art....flawless. Id rather watch a big hitting competition with perfect execution, than watch TD pass after TD pass, against undersized defenses.

I am not a fan of rematches, although I was for the FSU/Florida rematch for the same reason I was for the LSU/Bama one (other than being a Bama fan) simply because there wasn't another team that was nearly as deserving. I think some forget that both Alabama and LSU destroyed everyone they played that year, except for each other.

Everything just fell into place. OSU got beated by a really bad team, Oregon lost to LSU much worse than Bama and then lost to USC, and Stanford who I think should have been in consideration over OSU, got abused by Oregon.

Most of the hate for the game was built on fans in other areas dislike for the the SEC domination though. If the SEC had not won the previous 5 titles, I think more people would have been in favor of the game and the change that is could have and did help bring to the BCS.

Glad we are evolved in Alabama. Wouldn't want to assume a person can have an opinion about a team that doesn't fit your own.

For me the problem was the first game, "the Game of The Century"....Also known as the we have zero offense, and can't even kick game. I agree, that there is a stronger arguement for Bama than any other team. That didn't stop them from dropping Michigan in 06 when they didn't even play, the voters simply decided they didn't want a rematch. I would have enjoyed watching Ok St try and outscore an SEC team, I realize they likely would have failed, but it would have been more entertaining for me at least than watch LSU never make it past midfield.

Not really even the case for me... I actually admire the SECs dominance... I like when their is a clear powerhouse in something that people can gun for. I would never hate on the SEC... but I do feel their are some SEC biases that allowed the run to be what it is. Last year was just a bad decision in my opinion. A rematch between divisional rivals for a championship? When their were at least 2 teams that had cases for being in over them? Stanford had not lost to Oregon yet so can't use that as the reason Bama was chosen over them. FSU vs Florida rematch was way less controversial because UF one in the SEC title game against a quality opponent. Ohio State lost the last game of the season so it was too new in comparison to UF loss with UF losing to #1 then beating #11 vs Ohio State losing against Michigan and not having a game afterwards to increase their resume.

-Bama on the other hand lost to LSU(#1) and just was pretty much handed a rematch the day after the game...

Personally I wouldn't have argued too much about a Michigan/tOSU rematch that season. The big difference was Michigan was up against a team with name power behind it in Florida. If OU or Oregon would have been in the same place OSU was in, they may have gotten the jump, especially OU, since Oregon had played LSU as well. I also think the fact that Michigan/tOSU were each other's very last game made a small difference as well, although in theory, it shouldn't have.

Personally, I think the biggest argument for the playoff is the 2006 season. It was very close to being a rematch, but then Florida killed tOSU. Truly shows that there is a need for it to be more than 2 teams involved. I think I like the new system that we are going to go to in a coule of years. I originally wanted more, but I am coming around to just 4 teams. Of course, I would rather see the jump to the 4 Superconferences, expanded playoffs, and a governing body that sets the OOC scheduling much like the NFL does so that it would make the season a lot more interesting.

I guess I just don't see how all the coaches that voted in the coaches poll would show a bias, nor former players, coaches, and media from all over the country that vote in the Harris poll. It isn't just SEC coaches and media from the Southeast that vote in the polls. Seems strange that the entire country of voters would have a reason to want to make the SEC that dominant.

How did Stanford not losing to Oregon not change things? If Stanford wins that game they are undefeated and go on the play LSU in the BCSCG. It took Stanford, OSU, and possibly even Oregon losing to get Bama back to that game.

I agree that it does matter. I wish it wouldn't, but that would be tough to forget. Florida lost to was a 11-2 Auburn team as well so that wasn't a bad loss like OSU's against Iowa St.
