Alabama wins the SEC title and destroys ND?

  • Slevin said...

Bama got outphysicaled and out played and out everything in both their two big games and managed to somehow squeak one of them out (Thanks to a truck bed full of Miles dumb calls). Notre Dame on the other hand smacked the crap out of OU and never even let USC come close to sniffing victory. Close wins against lesser teams is never the telling sign. It's how you play against the big dogs. Bama can rape and pillage The North Central Michigan Charter Schools and the Auburns of the world, but they haven't really done much against higher competition and no, Michigan does not count. They are as soft as an Ikea comforter.

You also talk about Notre Dame beating USC like it was some huge accomplishment. They won freaking 7 games. Why not pump up the win against a 7 win BYU if we are going to act like beating USC (with a freshman first time starter at QB) was some huge accomplishment. USC didn't beat a single team that won more than 7 games and more than half of their wins cam against teams that averaged less than 3 wins this season (Hawaii 2, Cal 3, Utah 5, and Colorado 1)

  • I know that numbers don't mean everything, but I would still rather have the numbers on my side.

I will gladly compare the common opponents for Alabama against both Notre Dame and UGA. When you look at the 4 SEC teams that both Alabama and UGA played, the numbers are very close on offese. The difference on defense is staggering when you compare UGA and Bama.

UGA averaged a 25.8 margin of victory compared to Bama's 32.8.

    UGA averaged 486.3 yds/game on offense and 7.09 yds/play compared to Bama's 465.0 and 6.94.

    UGA gave up an average of 330.3 yds/game and 4.87 yds/play compared to Bama's 198.0 and 3.44.

Against Michigan, Notre Dame won by 7 and had 239 yds at 4.78 yds/play while giving up 299 at 4.53 yds/play.

Alabama won by 27 and had 431 yds at 6.84 yds/play while giving up 269 yds at 4.80 yds/play. The numbers aren't even that close when you thing about 31-7 at half time and backups playing the entire 4th quarter as well.

    BetterOff

  • The number that will not be on your side will be the final score of the SEC championship. I hope that the rematch against Michigan will be as exciting as last years rematch against LSU. I hear that Epcot theme park (Epcot Center) is a blast. Bama fans wanted a rematch so bad last year that they are going to get another one.

FWIW, BYU ranked #3 in total defense

Stats are skewed due to the talent they are facing, if BYU was in the SEC their defense wouldn't be ranked number 3..

I agree. I think you would agree as well that ND's defense is better than BYU's even though BYU's is ranked higher....and it probably isn't that close either, IMO.

We might have been outplayed by LSU, mainly due to Mett having the game of his life and they converted a million 3rd and longs, but to say we got out physicaled is wrong. We ran for more yards with average per carry of 6.6, LSU ran for 2.8 a carry. The bad hand off by McCarron to Yeldon was a huge turning point in that game and the reason we had to come from behind in the last minute.

A&M played a perfect game and deserved to win. We turned over the ball and they didn't, we couldn't get off the field on the third down and had to pass the ball more than usual due to be down 20 after the first quarter and still had a very good chance to win at the end. We didn't lose because we were out physicaled.

Say what you want about our schedule, and I actually am pretty sure Georgia beats us this Saturday, but we definitely didn't get blown out by 3+ scores this season.

I'm gonna need the reasoning behind this prediction...

Numbers aren't that important at this juncture. Georgia was playing atrocious and despicable football up until they started calling each other out in the media and had a team meeting. If you want to calculate numbers after the Florida game I'm down to listen.

If you want to take out the USC game that's fine because I do agree they suck donkey balls in all facets of the game. They are just not good. I also don't think Michigan is any good this year and would have a losing record if they played in the Pac12 or SEC. Notre Dame straight up took a shat on Oklahoma, a team I picked to beat ND by 28 points. Bama should have lost to LSU and got outplayed in that game and the A&M game.

I've never been a fan of bringing up a team playing down to their competition. It's how they play against their quality oppositions that I truly care about. UF has sucked more d this year than Pamela Anderson on offense and yet has the best overall quality wins in all of college football. Our stats are atrocious and yet we raped the "#1 defense" in the country.

I think Bama is still the best team in the country when they put it all together and it's not even close for who is second. But at the moment, I'm going to go with Georgia in this game because they are in that zone where they are playing almost flawlessly. I could be dead wrong and Bama could straight up rape them, but I'm doubting it at this juncture. I think ND will beat either team in the title game regardless.

I know you know this, but for those who don't:

    Ole Miss (6-6)
    Auburn (3-9)
    Georgia Southern (FCS)
    Georgia Tech (6-6)

This just goes to show you how the lunatic fringe cling to absolutely anything for hope. I would hope any team worth their salt could get into a "zone" finishing up with those 4 games. Lmao. This sport isn't that complicated. It's going to come down to who has the better game plan and who has the better players that execute the game plan better. once helmets start flying, team meetings and imaginary zones won't mean shit. I'm not sure who wins this game because both team's have exceptional players but I do know it won't have to do with team meetings and being in any zone. Alabama's last 2 games have been a combined score of 98-0. Big Damn deal.

I give solid predictions. Bama fans call it trolling. USC said I was sick. Nebraska said I was psycho. Oregon said stop waisting my time. FSU said I am a Gator. Kansas State said do you know Baylor's recod. GA fans will be saying that I know my shiat. ND fans are smart.
