Since this is the stretch in which everyone feels UGA's defense has become dominating, I'll start with Ole Miss and Auburn, since Alabama played both of them as well this season.

Against Ole Miss, UGA held them to 234 yards and 4.11 yds/play when Alabama held them to 218 yards and 3.21 yds/play.

Against Auburn, UGA held them to 238 yards and 4.86 yds/play when Alabama held them to 163 yards and 3.47 yds/play.

Against defenses ranked in the top 25 in total defense (3 games), not including UGA, Auburn averaged 186.0 yds/game. That is 52 yards less than UGA held them to.

Now to GaTech. Georgia Tech was averaging 398.8 yds/game in the previous 4 games leading up to playing UGA. They then put up 426 against UGA. Ga Tech was also averaging 435.7 yds/game against FBS teams, which is only 10 yards more than they had against UGA.

Also, against defenses, not including UGA that Ga Tech faced that were in the top 25 in total defense (3 games), Ga Tech averaged 282.0 yds per game, which is 144 yards less than they had against UGA.

There are some numbers for you involving games after Florida to think about. When you look at it, it somewhat gets to the point of why some don't really look to much into the numbers UGA has put up defensively in these last 4 games as teams that have good defenses, have frankly done better.

Back to football. My opinion doesn't have to fall in line with yours. I think Georgia has the type of offense to give Bama fits and beat them. The two best teams on Bamas schedule they got outplayed and it's not even a debate. Other than Michigan, their only other quality win is LSU. LSU simply is not the LSU we have seen the last few years and yet they almost won if it wasn't for a play within the last minute of the game.

Stats aren't always the tell all sign in college football. I don't know why people constantly bring them up. If there is a will, there is a way. UF looked like ass in 06 and won a national championshp. OU wasn't impressive or flashy in '00 and beat a great FSU team. I don't think they ever even let FSU cross the 50 yard line in that game if my memory serves me correctly.

Fact of the matter is, Bama has a lot more on their plate than any other team because they are trying to repeat. The wear and tear is something people should worry about. I said I could be very wrong, but I think it's Georgia's year to play for it and then they'll get beat by ND.
