He may a good dude but this is seriously a joke.
I do think he will turn it around but did he not train this offseason? He is literally at the bottom of the league in many hitting stats.
He better give some of that money back or to charity if this continues.
have to agree with you and just dont understand why the owners cant have a part of these huge contracts contain some kind of a performance clause in them

possibly one of the all-time worst contracts in the history of sports. This was a win now type of signing as they will not be able to move his contract in the later years. He is only making $12M this year but he will making roughly $30M per year in the final 2-3 seasons when he is over 40 years of age. If the don't win a title in the next couple of years with Albert, they might be in trouble because his contract will be a big reason why they won't be competing in a few years.
Unless baseball institutes a salary cap, it's not that big an issue... Arte Moreno has no issues with spending money for his team and money isn't much of a problem with new TV contracts in the So Cal area. It will suck for smaller markets to try and compete for top players though...

Arte Moreno is one of a kind... I always wished he bought the Dodgers instead of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...
We have the Guggenheim Group now with Magic Johnson as minority order, so I'll take that too.

I still appreciate the Angels for preventing Barry Bonds from winning the WS.
Too bad I can't say the same about Braves, Phillies, or Rangers letting the Giants win it two years ago...
