Hmmmmm, Penn State honors college is(as far as admission standards and a number of undergrad programs) on par with many Ivys, and Stanford and USC speak for themselves. Ohio State, though a great university(and besides the fact you can get a great education anywhere) isn't going to get many recruits using the academic angle against any of those universities. Not sure I am buying any of that.

Even putting aside the sexual predator thing, the culture at OSU is still out of control. Current players apparently continue to believe it's ok to hang around with "superfans", who are basically creepy older men, and accept benefits from them. And Heuerman was hosting his 17 year old brother at the time and saw no problem introducing him to this creepy guy and taking him out bar hopping along with several other high profile recruits. For a school with the largest compliance department in the country, OSU seems to do a very poor job of supervising the kids entrusted to their care.

And how do you do that? For real? You're telling me UM doesn't have crazy fans that read every tweet and what not from these recruits? You're telling me crazy fans won't find out where they're hanging out and stop by?
And cwood, how do you know where they were taken to? Word around here is it happened at Eddie George's grille.

Most parents who permit their HS age sons and daughters to visit schools on recruiting trips expect the coaches and administrators to keep a better eye on them than this. When Urban Meyer's daughters took their college visits to see different volleyball programs coming out of high school, how do you think he would have reacted if he later learned they spent one of those visits bar hopping with a registered sex offender? I assume he would have been upset. I hope so, anyway.

That's exactly what I said on our homesite. Forget about that guy being the pedophile, the issue is that OSU should be keeping better tabs on who the recruits and players hang out with, especially after getting dinged by the NCAA. I'm not saying that they can stop everyone, but this guy looks like he had access to a lot of players and recruits. When your program is already under scrutiny, that just can't happen... at least not right in front of your eyes.

Upset yes, but to decommit? No. tOSU did what they should when they found out about this guy. If this happened at another university you wouldn't detest it as much. But since it's tOSU you wanna troll.
Any parent would be pissed, but it's obvious they are overreacting. TOSU and UM have THOUSANDS of fans, it's impossible to check out each and every one. EVERY program sends recruits to their hosts at night for some time.
