  • I know he's being recruited as an LB but I just watched his video for the first time and came away impressed with his running ability. He runs with a low center of gravity and not standing straight up like most big high school backs and actually was a little shifty. I know he probly has a higher cieling at LB but anyone think he could be a decent college back?

watch the Landon Collins video & then you'll really scratch your head wondering about a prospect playing offense at the next level.
but neither will unless Anzelone plays some type of h-back role .

I have played in the same league as Anzalone back in the day, and let me just say that it is one of the worst in PA. He is bigger than 97% of the kids he faces (including linemen) and the kids he isn't bigger than are just fat and slow. To only have 54 tackles in that league with AA's physical attributes sends a bunch of red flags. You watch him on film and you see a kid who simply is bigger and faster than everyone, but has a lot of issues in terms of being a real LB. He doesn't tackle well, he doesn't diognose well, and he plays high. I don't like him as a LB prospect at all.

With that being said, I agree with you. I think he could be one heck of a H-Back. That is where I would play him.

Somebody's salty they aren't getting him. Kid was hurt and played both ways a lot.

All I will say is that I started at CB and LB and I was 145 lbs. Why? Because most schools in that league have less than 50 players. We had around 30. And you couldn't be more wrong on me being salty... I was getting killed on my board when I said that Anzalone was an H-Back or nothing type of prospect.

    It is what it is.

Jive has said that since his recruitment started, well before he committed to OSU.

I believe it was stated (don't remember where exactly) the reason he only had 54 tackles was he only played the first half of most games. Lot of their games were blowouts.

He should have had 10 tackles by the half of each game. Our OL averaged like 6' 200 lbs when I played.

But lets take stats out of this. Turn on his game film. Tell me what you see. I see a guy with poor technique. I see a big fish in a very little pond. I see someone who is an incredible athlete for his size, but not a great defender.

The kid should be an H-Back. He would do well at that position.

From what I have read about the camps he's been to, he has done pretty well. Against top players. I just worry about how well he does in college, not hs. He will not play offense at ND.

Camp? Really? The kid was a DB before last year, I would hope he could cover the flats.

How many people say "Oh man, our LB will be awesome because he did well in 7 on 7's!!!"? Come on now...

lol hopefully not many..WR and CB are the only position groups that I like camp settings for. I have my concerns about Anzalone too guess we'll see how he looks this year with pads on.

Agree. WR and DB. A little with QB too, but that is more physical attributes and less about decision making, IMO. But I know some people see it different with that position.

    LB though... smh.

I was pointing out because of how big Anzalone is. Collins doesn't have the size of Anzalone and I see him as a Brandon Jacobs type back if he play RB

I his pictures he also looks like he hasn't been in the best strength and conditioning program. Even with the low competition he looked like a agile big back
