All BCS Title Team

  • Here's mine. Remember that it is based on the season that they won the BCS Title. Otherwise, someone like Sean Taylor would definitely be ahead of Roy Williams, IMO.

    What stuck out at me is the OL Miami had in 2001. You could make an argument for Joaquin Gonzalez at Tackle from the 2001 team as well. Have to admit, it is really tough not to have Nick Fairley on there, but with Simon and Dorsey, I just couldn't justify it.

  • I'd put Mike Nugent over Janikowski but it's definitely close.

    Reasoning: Nugent was huge for Ohio State the year they won it all. While Janikowski was outstanding on the field he was trainwreck off of it.

    Nah, just the championship season as a whole. If it was game only, VY would be there ahead of Cam.

    Also, would take Fairley over Dorsey and I'd love to have Ted Ginn Jr. on there returning kicks, maybe over Peerless Price. As long as he doesn't get injured and miss the whole BCS game.

    That is good reasoning. I agree with you. Janikowski was better, but Nugent definitely meant more to his team probably than any other kicker has in a while.

    I am sorry for all the Texas fans that feel that way, but Cam was just so much better all-around. You could list the top QB's that could beat you from the pocket that have won BCS titles and Cam would probably still be near the top (although he was off in the actually BCSCG). Then you could list guys that could beat you on the ground and Cam would be at the top.

    I would take an argument with Weinke vs Newton just because Weinke was a complete different style of QB, but I think it is obviouc Cam was better and still is better than VY.

    Peerless Price was pretty damn good that year. What about Andre Johnson? Did he win one when he was at Miami?

    He was pretty darn good. There isn't a ton of top level WRs that have won BCS Titles though....or at least when they were at their best. 2 teams that had great young receivers that became great, but were just contributors at the time were OU and Texas.

    About Andre Johnson.

    His So. year was 2001 and he had 37 rec for 682 yards and 10 TDs. It was the next year as a Junior when he blew up.

    That was a good So. year, but Peerless had 61 rec for 920 yds and 10 TDs in 1998 with Tee Martin at QB as well.
