I have flown Continental for as long as I can remember and I have never had one problem with them

I've learned to only fly AirTran, American Airlines blows, along with American Eagle and any other affiliate that they have. Also Delta sucks too.

Internationally, British airways kicks ass in service and amenities IMO, Nationally, I agree that the "discount" airlines perform better than the others, although I can say I've never had a problem with Continental either...

I like Airtran - cheap and never had a problem.
Delta - big, international flights are OK, local smaller flights are typically pretty crappy. I guess the bigger companies put the more experienced, well paid folks on the bigger routes (including the pilots)
favorite so far - KLM - dutch. yes, full of blond stewardesses. they even repeat everything in English after they are done slobbering dutch into the microphone.
plane-wise, the long flights are MUCH more comfortable on a boeing to me than an airbus...talking 767,777 vs 320s, 330s...the seats are more comfortable to me and they just "seem" roomier, like more space at the bulkheads to get up and stretch.

Delta is completely awful. However, as soon as I complain, they give me vouchers for credit on another flight.

Biggest problem with Southwest is that they do not have interline agreements. If there flight is delayed to the point that you'd miss a connection or canceled, they can not just simply put you on another airline. That and they have pretty old equipment that's going to start showing its wear and tear here pretty soon.

Qantas is really good too. Not sure where all they fly though other than Australia.
