Andy Reid to the Chiefs?

  • ESPN is reporting that they are on the verge of getting a deal done. I would be very very happy if he became the Chiefs coach.

Would be a great move for both parties. Great change of scenery for Reid as well. He'd be going from one of the most disloyal (although rowdy) fanbases to one of the most loyal.

Now we just need a QB that is worth a crap... Good thing is Reid will make us a good QB somehow.

Yep, he might think about taking Geno with the first pick.

I feel better about it but still don't think Geno is worth a number one pick. Under Reid though he could be really good.

That could be a great pick with the offensive weapons that KC already has.

  • Yeah I don't think Smith is a number either but under Reid he could be worth it. Like Betteroff said with those weapons he could land in a good situation

Most QBs aren't worthy of #1, but that's where they get drafted. Either the team with the #1 pick needs one badly or another team that does trades to make sure they get exactly who they want.

I guess you don't often see teams with the top pick have their QB already.

  • Would be a great hire for the Chief's. I thought this would be a great hire as soon as he got fired.

  • Andy Reid needs to find a quality DC or it will be a lot of frustration in KC. I like the guy and hope he does well, but he is clueless about building a team on the defensive side of the ball. When Jim Johnson passed away, the Eagles defense turned putrid.

True, I we had this problem last year. The right situation can make a qb as well. I just hope they don't blow it. There isnt a dominant overall player this year that I can think of off the top of my head that would be a lock to take so it's pretty much wide open

How about Rob Ryan? He seems about to be fired with the rest of the Dallas staff possibly.

Wouldn't mind him but I just don't see them firing anyone over there. I think Jerry gives them one more year.

Jerry said yesterday that there were going to be big shake-ups and that it was going to be very uncomfortable in Dallas over the next couple of weeks.

Not sure exactly what he meant, by I would saying anything will or won't happen there.

  • I said a couple days ago that the Chiefs aren't as far off as their record indicates. They are missing a head coach and a QB. They get Reid, there is step one. He will get good assistants. Next step is to take the best available QB in the draft. By all accounts and mocks, that is Geno.

Next step would be to resign Dwayne Bowe, and maybe pick up DeAndre Hopkins in the 2nd round of the draft to get another big target opposite of Bowe.

Chiefs could be really good here really soon, IMO.

  • Much easier division than if he were to go to the Cards. Better ownership as well.

Whoever it is needs to be a DC vet and needs to know how to assemble a team on that side of the ball. Reid was basically the GM in Philly, and I know that he trusted Johnson 100% on all things defense (personnel included). I'm not sure that Ryan is the kind of guy to be able to assemble a team.

I agree. KC also has the youth on offense to give Geno a couple of years to develop as well. It isn't a must win now situation as it could be with some teams.

Definitely. The Charges are on the downslope of their run, the Raiders are the Raiders, and the Broncos although great this year can only expect another year....maybe 2 of Peyton.

The NFC West looks to be a 49ers/Seahawks war for years ahead right now.
