  • Have you ever watched the Bulls, Heat, or Magic because those are some of the best defenses in the league.

You also had the best collection of offensive players ever during that time. Everything now is iso, there is no team defense.

Maybe, or maybe nobody was that good at defense

  • Just look at these team stats and tell me teams do not play team defense anymore. I have just about every NBA game I can watch this year, and I have seen some of the best defensive games.

Yes I have, I'm a huge Bulls fan. The Magic are not that great on D without Howard (I'll give you him, he can play some D). The Heat I try not to watch, but they are pretty good.

Heat play great D. Love when they throw Lebron on someone in the 4th and he just shuts him down. What he did with Rose last year was incredible. My Sixers have been playing some good D this year too. I think people get a little nostalgic about the NBA and dont realize that players today are bigger and better than a lot of players from the past. Its just that a lot of fans cant relate to the hip hop aspect of todays player and get turned off. I think the NBA the last two years is as good as ever. Lots of young superstars around the league, most of the marquee teams are doing well.

For my money the late 80's early to mid 90'2 were the golden years of the NBA. But as I posted somewhere else on this site, I think that in 4 or 5 years you will see another great NBA resurgence.

  • What's scary is as I watch Davis, it seems as if he is still adjusting to the extra height. As he gets more comfortable, it could be truly scary.

  • Being a South carolina resident I hope the Bobcats get the top pick. People killed them on some recent trades but in the NBA it pays to be really bad. Unless you're a big market and can attract top talent through FA its hard to get over that hump where your fighting for the playoffs.

    Sullinger does not play defense

Sullinger? Seriously... Wow I have to respectively disagree, I believe he is one of the more overrated guys in college the past 5 years, soft around basket, lack of effort, just stands around on defensively and doesn't challenge shots that often, not much of a mid range game, granted that all could change in the NBA but a lot of NBA scouts have plenty of question marks on the kid.

Why did you quote me, because I said that Sullinger does not play defense, and gets abused by other big men in the paint.
