Anthony Jennings to LSU

  • 8th OOS commit in a row.

    What can you Georgia guys tell me about him? I thought we would lose him to Oregon.

    Also.. Isn't he in the elite 11?

    Plays at Marietta HS. AAAAA school. One of my old coaches from HS coaches him now. Had a good JR season but had a knee injury that slowed him down a bit and he's flown under the radar. Was MVP at the Atlanta Elite 11 camp, has all the tools. I believe his recruitment hasn't picked up because of the injury. He was everything to Marietta last year, expect the same this season.

  • Love this kid, personally I would have loved to see him in Oregon's spread offense and believe he could reach his full potential there, not to say he won't at LSU, just my opinion of course. Good pickup for the Tigers!!

  • Saw him today as I went to Marietta High School this morning to run some sprints and they were practicing on the back field. A 7 on 7 event was about to take place as 2-3 other schools were arriving as I was leaving. Not sure if Marietta was just practicing or if they were going to play as the arriving teams looked like perhaps Jr. Varsity kids.

    Accurate and throws a pretty, catchable ball. The only knock, if I had to name one, is that I think he's closer to 6'0" than his listed 6'2".

    I got to see him play against Walton and in the Rising Seniors Game in 2011. They moved out of Walton's region so I probably won't see him until maybe the playoffs this 2012 season.

    Hope he reps Marietta well in the Elite 11 and at LSU.

    Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

  • If Ramsey weren't in this year's class, I feel confident saying Jennings would probably be UGA's QB. He is really good. Maybe a little on the small side, but he isn't any smaller than Aaron Murray, I don't believe, so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

    Threw really, really well at the Elite 11 camp that he won. Easily the best passer there besides Ramsey, IMO.

    I think he will probably be used much like Jefferson was, you just have the bonus that Jennings actually possesses a football IQ (or IQ at all, really).

    Sounds a lot like Everett Golson. Thought Oregon bound, congrats Tigers..

    Agreed. I don't think his height will be an issue. Similar in size to Aaron Murray (good call by you) probably a little taller than Drew Brees is elite in the NFL so I don't see his height as problematic.

    Scouts get so caught up in protypical size.....mark it down.....Russell Wilson will be a better NFL QB than Ryan Tannehill. I mean the NFL Lineman are no bigger than Wisconsin's lineman and Wilson made plays at NC State and Wisky.

    Tannehill and Sherman couldn't win in the Big 12..... So how the heck they gonna win in the NFL. Sorry for the sidebar.......lol.

  • FYI....... He throws the prettiest pass of any high school QB I've seen in person since I saw Chris Leak at Charlotte Independence when he began their 100+ game winning streak. Back then Leak was already at his peak as he could spin it.
