C-ever tried to quit drinking and couldn't
A-ever get angry at a loved one who asked you about your drinking
G-ever feel guilty about your drinking the next day
E- do you sometimes have an eye opener in the morning after a night of drinking...Answer yes for 2 or more..as Foxworthy would say..you just might be an alcoholic..

The OP has taken the hardest of 12 steps--admitting you are an alcoholic.. Some posters may think its cute or cool to make fun of alcoholism..I have been to too many funerals of alcoholics..It is a disease, not a lack of willpower...

BTW --the last 12 years have been the best of my life---When I quit drinking I thought I would never have any fun again. How could I watch football with out partying and drinking..The truth was that I was sloppy drunk for almost all night games...Now I attend as many home games as possible..

Not at 23 but I can see myself doing it later on. I go out about 3-5 nights a week but i'll have 4-5 buds or a glass of woodford, strictly a social thing. My roommate on the other hand has to drink a 12 pack just to be able to fall asleep and his mother kicked his dad out of the house when he was little for being a drunk....I think he's the reason I haven't become an alcoholic in college.

16 months and counting.

I have really cut back now that I have a family. I once drank a handle of vodka every 5 days with no problem. Biggest problem is I have never had a hangover so I can be at work at 7 no problem, even though I drank enough the night before to kill a small child. Biggest eye opener I had was when I drank a handle in 2 days and I realized I had a problem. I only drink beer now and thinking about giving that up as well. If you decide to give it up cold turkey, you are going to need some help. Either family or church or both. You will need to change your friends most likely.

why not just drink friday night and saturday night? that's what i do
