i still cant believe you guys added missouri. i know it was for tv market but jesus christ what a fail. talk about bringing nothing to the table. that part of the country is about pro sports and meth. they dont fit in at all.

i lived there for three months for work stuff. you are preaching to the choir. the sec exit fee is $0. b10 should call them

Yea, I've heard that Missouri is not liked so far as an SEC team. Wonder if TXAM wouldn't have had such a succesfull season if they would be saying the same thing about them. Probably not though because of the presence in TX.

A&M was a perfect addition to the conference. i love how they said screw you texas we aint your bitch. they really stepped their game up and are by far the marquee texas school right now. good stuff

Yea. They brought their A-game to the SEC for sure. I would love for Mizzou to be dropped and for FSU to be added but if not us hopefully someone else if they aren't going to compete in football.

Our mens hoops team is a steaming pile right now, but the rest appear on solid footing, at least until conference play starts in baseball.

  • was really hoping mizzou if anything would be #2 in sec baskettball grumble

  • As far as the SEC move most folks that were around for the last go round have been dreaming of it ever since.
We were blocked for selfish reasons, I guess wanting to leave is also a selfish reason but the SWC was crumbling and we should have split with the pigs.
My gawd that was a great and heated rival, now it is a game.
Hoping that one also comes back but I doubt it with LSU back on the slate.
A&M has plenty of history with SEC schools and it is not a city, the town exists for A&M and when its football season its football season.

  • I don't know if FSU, Clemson, or GT would be invited. South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida would have something to say about it

if i was A&M i would want to play texas every year, but at the same time if they didnt i wouldnt worry about it. it is only hurting them

ND joining the ACC would be a mistake.

    It will be picked apart.

If ND joined the ACC fully then the ACC would stabilize. Adding ND would allow the ACC to renegotiate their TV contract.

    I have mixed feelings.
I believe the game should be played because it is football and this is Texas, no reason not to play.
Its a tradition and should be done.
The other part of me says I just dont care, if you dont want to play us thats fine. Its OK.

  • The B10 wants to add two more teams before they renegotiate their TV deal. Preliminary conversations have been had with all of UNC, Duke, UVA, GT, Miami and Syracuse. As soon as the Maryland litigation is resolved, a major push will be made to pull two of them. UNC is #1 on the wish list, but they are probably the hardest to flip. If the B10 can't convince UNC fairly quickly, they will move on to the others with the goal of getting something done in the next 12-18 months.

If the Big10 pushes that early it will set off everything.

The question is what is the endgame for the North Carolina and Virginia schools? If they reject the B10 and the B10 moves on and takes, say, GT and Miami, will the SEC take all four North Carolina schools? Will it take at least three (leaving WF behind)? Same with UVA and VT ... will the SEC take both? If not, the North Carolina and Virginia schools could be left in an ACC that has a very ugly footprint.

idk man. if unc wont break they probably survive. if nd joins them in all sports i think it cements the conference. if unc leaves all hell will break loose. small case senario is ya'll get gt and another and we get ncst and maybe vt. they might still make it then....maybe. then it is in fsu's court

ND will never join the ACC in all sports. It's the same flawed logic the BE held onto until it was too late. ND gains nothing by joining the ACC in football and ND is not going to join the ACC to save the ACC. ND couldn't care less about the ACC.

Edit: If the B10 takes GT and Miami, it won't be long before the B12 comes for FSU and that will be all she wrote.

  • If the SEC was smart they'd wait until Deloss Dodds' contract is up in 2014. Hope Texas chooses a more willing AD, then go after the motherload of Texas and OU. That would be an awesome conference.

Considering the new playoff system ND NEEDS to join a conference for football. That extra championship game is huge for getting into the top 4 at the end of the season and staying competitive. They will make moves to join for football in the next 8 months. Just watch.
