Anyone been to the new Yankee stadium?

  • I'm going to be in NYC in June and the Yankees have a series with the Mets during my trip there. I'm trying to figure out the best seats for the price. Looking to stay around a $100 a ticket so I know the seats won't be great.

Any advice from someone who's been there?

  • I have been once and I kid you not I sat on the very top row in that stadium (3rd base side) and it still wasn't a bad seat. It's a beautiful park.

Thanks. That's very good to know actually.

  • tix for yankees-mets are going to be expensive. if your trip rolls over any other series, you might want to check them out as prices will be much cheaper.

I can buy two tickets in section 205, third row right now for $115 a pop. I'm just not sure if those seats are any good.

Cant wait to go. I went to the Old Yankee stadium when I was a wee lad. My Aunt and Uncle live on Long Island so I think we are taking a family trip next summer to see them. Im going to make sure my Rays are in town and go watch a game.

The Rays are in town during my trip as well. I'd just rather see them play the Mets.

i understand the Mets-Yankees is a rivalry..but the Rays have a very good chance of winning the AL East this year and are a much better team than the Mets. More than likely you will be seeing 2 of the best teams in baseball play with the Yanks-Rays. The Mets are a laughing stock right now in NY and will not finish higher than 4th in the NL East. Your experience and money though..

I don't really follow baseball at all. I'm just going to experience the stadium. The Mets game happens to be on a Friday which will fit better into my schedule.

  • I worked there last season, and that place is the White House of sports (and I don't even like the Yankees). Gorgeous cleatchasers and not a bad seat in the house. Just don't drive there: take the 4 train instead.

I mean as long as you are not in the bleachers that cut off the half the outfield

The Bleacher Creatures are part of the experience, imo, especially when they call out each player til they get their acknowledgement. Best seats for game experience have to be the lower right field seats, fighting for HR's. I worked right behind there for the most part.

Do you know what section that would be?

  • I've been there twice. Although it's nice, I actually miss the old ballpark. The new one is very bland feeling as you walk around. It's big and nice to look at from the outside, but the concourse areas are lacking IMHO. Of the parks I've visited Wrigley > Old Yankee Stadium > San Diego Petco Park > Ballpark at Arlington > New Yankee Stadium > Old Texas Ranger Ballpark > Astrodome >Tropicana in Tampa.

It's sections 105-107 I believe, but those may be the hardest to get.

Be sure to get some garlic fries while you're there, and I suppose like anywhere else, it's far cheaper to go buy your eats and drinks from the storefronts than in-seat.

Oh, and everyone starts shutting down in the bottom of the 7th.

Thats a really fun place to sit.. Third row you are right over the "short porch" lots of homers get hit there.. Definitly good seats.. If you want to go a little cheaper go in the bleachers.. Good seats, awesome atmosphere, most fun part of the stadium to watch a game.. If you go bleachers make sure you dont do section 201, or 239 as those sections have the potential for obstructed view..

Bleachers Creatures are in section 203.. Very fun to sit there like I said above, but if you do dont where Mets gear or Red Sox gear, probably best to go neutral if you arent a yanks fan.. Bleachers will be different this year tho as Bald Vinny supposedly isnt coming back.. Hes the guy who starts roll call.. You can probably get tickets there on Stub Hub for 100 or less for sure.. If not section 203, right field bleachers in genreal are the most fun place to sit, very entertaining..

  • Not a fan of the new park, it has too much of a corporate feel to it.
